Guests consistently mention the comfort, cleanliness, and quality of the facilities, as well as the warm welcome from the hosts. The cottage is ideal for families and groups, with thoughtful touches such as welcome hampers and homemade meals. While a few guests noted minor issues with privacy, heating, and access to amenities, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive, making it a delightful rural retreat.

Multiple reviews highlight the cottage as very clean and immaculately presented, with no significant complaints about cleanliness. Only one review mentioned the towels being thin, but this did not affect the overall impression.

The rural, peaceful location is widely appreciated, with guests enjoying the countryside and proximity to local attractions. A small number of guests found it isolated and noted the need to drive to shops, but most valued the tranquillity and setting.

Guests frequently describe the cottage as comfortable, with spacious rooms, comfy beds, and a relaxing atmosphere. The en-suite bedrooms and quality furnishings are especially appreciated. A couple of guests mentioned the cottage could be cold at times, but this was not a common issue.

The cottage is praised for being well-equipped, with high-quality kitchens and bathrooms, good WiFi, and thoughtful extras like homemade meals. Some minor feedback included a cramped dining table for six and a less effective oven, but overall facilities are highly rated.

Guests repeatedly mention welcome hampers, homemade meals, and helpful hosts, which add a special touch to their stay. Please note that such gifts and extras are not guaranteed for every booking.

Positioned in a tranquil and totally private setting, Stables Cottage is a beautifully converted former stable yard located on a working farm, set in 80 acres of grassland and woodland. The open-plan living space includes a large bespoke country kitchen, with a sociable breakfast bar, leading into the cosy sitting room with a wood burning stove and dining area. For those who need to work whilst away from home or the office, there is excellent WiFi and data streaming throughout the cottage. The flat screen television offers smooth connectivity for Netflix and other services. Outside, enjoy the garden with its sun deck, garden furniture and barbecue.

After a hearty breakfast, pull on your boots and explore the very special woodland walk. You will be amazed by the flora, fauna and simple beauty of a wood that has been hardly touched for hundreds of years. Listen out for woodpeckers and watch buzzards and red-kites soaring above you. Various deer and badgers make their homes around the farm. Bluebells, wild garlic, primroses and other wild flowers carpet the floor of the wood amongst ferns and mossy boughs of fallen trees. See how hazel stems have been coppiced for hundreds of years to supply traditional crafts and industries such as hedge-laying and charcoal making.

After an enjoyable day outdoors, you can relax and unwind in the cosy sitting room or play a board game before dinner. When it’s time for bed, there are three very comfortable and beautifully decorated en-suite bedrooms, two of which enjoy super-king size beds that can be converted into twin singles on request. The master bedroom with its sumptuous king-size bed also enjoys a bath with overhead shower in its en-suite bathroom. With all that countryside fresh air you will be guaranteed a good night's sleep.

This well-thought out property is perfect for families with younger children or for those wishing to enjoy an idyllic countryside experience. The cottage was well equipped and comfortable. Excellent produce from the farm and a very tasty vegetable lasagne from the farm menu. Great idea to have this as an option. Wonderful rural location with goats, piglets and chickens alongside the cottage. James and Vanessa very helpful in answering questions before and during our stay. Enjoyed the walks across the fields and through the woodland.
