Positioned in a tranquil and totally private setting, Stables Cottage is a beautifully converted former stable yard located on a working farm, set in 80 acres of grassland and woodland. The open-plan living space includes a large bespoke country kitchen, with a sociable breakfast bar, leading into the cosy sitting room with a wood burning stove and dining area. After a hearty breakfast, pull on your boots and explore the very special woodland walk. You will be amazed by the flora, fauna and simple beauty of a wood that has been hardly touched for hundreds of years. Listen out for woodpeckers and watch buzzards and red-kites soaring above you. Various deer and badgers make their homes around the farm. Bluebells, wild garlic, primroses and other wild flowers carpet the floor of the wood amongst ferns and mossy boughs of fallen trees. See how hazel stems have been coppiced for hundreds of years to supply traditional crafts and industries such as hedge-laying and charcoal making.

After an enjoyable day outdoors, you can relax and unwind in the cosy sitting room or play a board game before dinner. When it’s time for bed, there are three very comfortable and beautifully decorated en-suite bedrooms, two of which enjoy super-king size beds that can be converted into twin singles on request. The master bedroom with its sumptuous king-size bed also enjoys a bath with overhead shower in its en-suite bathroom. With all that countryside fresh air you will be guaranteed a good night's sleep.

Beautiful cottage, well equipped with everything we needed for a family get together. The cottage was warm and cosy, we didn't need to use the log burner at all. All 3 bedrooms were comfortable, and the ensuites were much appreciated. Thanks

Lovely farm setting, but very isolated and far from amenities. The local shop is only accessible by car and limited in its provisions. Our main issue with the house was the lack of privacy, with no enclosed garden and staff pottering around all the time. The house was quite cold when the temperatures dropped and was dark a lot of the time. Food provided was nice but the oven isn’t great so it took a very long time to prepare the meals. TV had frequent issues.

Stables Cottage, located on Wood Farm in Leicestershire provided a serene escape from urban life, allowing my family and I to relax and enjoy the peaceful countryside. We fully immersed ourselves in nature, experiencing fresh air, scenic views, and interacting with farm animals. The beautiful and idyllic farm stay focused on locally sourced, seasonal food, discovering delicious meals made with fresh ingredients, served locally at many very welcoming and dog friendly pubs. Wood Farm also had a fantastic range of home cooked meals that can be ordered directly via the owners! Stables Cottage has so many acres of forest to explore with stunning walks and incredible views. If you are looking for a luxury stay in a rural location, this is the place for you. Stable Cottage was very clean, beautifully decorated and very cosy! My family and I plus Teddy, our dog had a wonderful time and enjoyed the stunning surroundings of the area!
