Guests say

The Gatehouse-UK11836 is a characterful property praised for its cleanliness, comfortable beds, and spaciousness. It is conveniently located near a train station and local amenities in Dronfield. Some guests noted a lack of kitchen equipment and decorative excess, while others appreciated the property's unique charm and privacy for multiple guests.

Guests generally found the property very clean, with comfortable and warm bedding. However, there were mentions of a smell in the upstairs bathroom and a urine scent in the downstairs section, possibly due to carpeted toilets.

The location is highly praised for its excellent access to the Sheffield-Nottingham train line, good road access, and proximity to local pubs, takeaways, and a LIDL. The secure parking was also a plus.

The beds were noted to be of good quality and comfortable. The property offers privacy with multiple bathrooms and lounges, although some guests suggested the need for twin beds for single travellers.

While the property is appreciated for its spaciousness, guests reported a lack of kitchen equipment, non-working oven settings, and a desire for more instructions, such as for the heating. The presence of cameras and listening devices also made some guests uncomfortable.

There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the hosts, so it is not possible to provide a score in this category.

Very clean and quiet accommodation, beds comfortable. Really awful smell in the upstairs bathroom when using the sink and there's not enough decent sized pans to feed 4 people, no dishes for cooking meals in. Not all the oven settings work. Due to hardly any kitchen equipment had to do take aways. Way too many knicks knacks and personal items. There was nothing to clean the floor with ie a hoover. It was a good job I didn't take my dog as I would not have been able to clean up his fur. Outside space is not viable for a dog as there is no grass and a small paved area. Would have been better to have twin beds as we were 4 single people.

The location is excellent. The inside of the accommodation is very old circa the 70’s so not to everyone’s taste. It feels like someone’s home that has not been updated for the purpose of a rental for accommodation. There were a couple of things that made us uncomfortable. One thing that stands out is that there are cameras outside as well as a microphone and speaker system that listens to conversations. The downstairs section was much more up to spec and the only complaint is that it smelled of urine. I assume this is because the toilets are carpeted. There is also mould in that bathroom above the shower.
