The property is celebrated for its cleanliness, comfort, and well-equipped facilities, with special mentions of the cosy atmosphere and thoughtful touches such as homemade Bakewell tarts and a welcome pack. The idyllic setting and characterful charm make it a highly recommended stay for a relaxing break in the Peak District.

Reviews frequently commend the spotless condition of The Old Chapel, with guests feeling no need to pre-wash crockery and praising the cleanliness of the property. One isolated mention of hair on the bedsheet prevents a perfect score.

The location is highly praised for its tranquillity, beautiful views, and proximity to local attractions and walks. The peaceful surroundings contribute to the relaxing atmosphere, making it an ideal base for exploring Derbyshire.

The Old Chapel is described as cosy and comfortable, with a well-received log burner and recliner sofa. However, one review mentioning the springiness of the mattress suggests room for improvement in the sleep experience.

Facilities are well-regarded, with the property being well-equipped for guests' needs. The presence of extra amenities like bird binoculars and a starter pack of wood for the burner are appreciated, indicating good maintenance and provision.

Guests are delighted by the thoughtful extras provided, such as wine, milk, and homemade treats. While these gifts are warmly received and add to the charm of the stay, it should be noted that such extras, while common, are not guaranteed for every visit.

When the weather permitted it was lovely to sit outside and watch the chickens and the birds on the feeders. Mary was the perfect host, on hand when needed, and baked some delicious Bakewell tarts for our arrival.

It was the first place I have stayed at where I absolutely didn't feel the need to wash up crockery etc before use. Everywhere was spotless. The bed was very comfy and hot water for baths etc was plentiful. It is amazing how much can be fitted into a smaller space. It was cozy, warm and beautiful. I really did not want to leave. The views were amazing and it was a pity it was too cool to sit outside in the evening. We shall have to plan another visit earlier in the season. Mary was the perfect host and bakes the most lush bakewell tarts. Thank you Thank you Thank you for a fabulous stay.

Very clean and well equipped and the welcome gifts were very enjoyable. We did some lovely walks in the area too. The canal walks were particularly delightful.
