Electric central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Welcome pack. Courtyard patio area with garden furniture and barbecue. Hot tub for 4 (private, at cost, by prior arrangement with the owner). Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking. Please note: There is a lake in the grounds, 5 yards.. This detached lodge sits perfectly by the side of a pretty lake and boasts a characterful interior which accentuates the rustic the rustic location, and is ideal for a couple and a furry friend seeking a quiet hideaway. There are two off road parking spaces where you can unload your bags with ease, as you absorb the tranquil setting. Enter into the lovely open plan living space where you can unwind on the plush sofa and enjoy a movie night with your loved one, courtesy of the TV. There is a compact kitchen/dining area with doors leading out to the patio area. When sleep calls, a king size bed awaits with matching furniture to house your belongings, and you can enjoy the peaceful setting, television free. The courtyard patio offers alternative dining arrangements when the weather is warm and where you can soak in the sun on the outdoor furniture and enjoy dining al fresco, whilst watching the wildlife over the nearby lake. The lake is owned by neighbours and isn’t available to openly walk around or fish without prior owner permission.
Directly from the property you can enjoy stunning country walks in many different directions, including an ever popular hike up to the Lumsdale Falls making this the ideal base for those who enjoy the outdoors. Bring your bikes and enjoy the off road cycling tracks for those who like exploring on two wheels.
Matlock Bath is a well known resort on the River Derwent. Visit the popular Heights of Abraham cable cars, enjoy fish and chips, and numerous entertainments throughout the year. The Matlock Bath illuminations and firework display are especially popular in autumn bringing in the crowds and lighting up the sky. A little further afield, Chatsworth House and Bakewell provide a wonderful day out, exploring the local businesses that line the streets. The location and property really are second to none and the perfect place for a break at any time of the year.

The owner provides the option to hire a hot tub for your stay by prior arrangement with the owner, and paid to the owner directly.

Positives...● Cosy and cute lodge● Heating excellent● Comfortable bed● Clean floors and bedroom● Lovely view of lakeNEGATIVES...● Did not meet the host of the lodge at all despite text messages exchanged - sent his teenage son down to us to collect hot tub 'cash' (hosts words) which we found totally inappropriate and rude given the amount we paid to stay!● No spare toilet roll - host sent his teenage son (again!) which, again, we found both uncomfortable and inappropriate, after questioning whether we had checked for spare! No apology from host either!● Plates in cupboard dirty ● Cobwebs● Lodge in the bottom of neighbours garden with 2 fence panels + a mini fence seperating lodge from neighbouring garden - could see and hear children playing in the neighbouring garden while we were in the hot-tub which was extremely uncomfortable and forced us to get out even though we paid £120 extra to use it!● Hot-tub price was alot given we couldn't privately use it and no instructions left/no host to show how it worked!● Advertised boardgames yet there was only 1 kids game in the cupboard● Mould in bathroom on walls● Disgusting toilet brush!● Did not look exactly as the images advertisedOVERALL....We will not be staying here again nor would we recommend this lodge to anybody else. Extremely expensive 'fish bowl' style lodge at the bottom of somebodys garden with an expensive 'exposed' hot-tub.

Lovely place to say, would definitely recommend. The location is perfect and there are some absolutely beautiful places to walk around the lodge. The lodge itself was clean and welcoming.
