About this property

Connaught Gardens, situated on the edge of Weymouth, is a large, detached house in a small residential development, ideal for exploring the beautiful coast in a wonderful area of Dorset. Perfect for families, this spacious property has a well-equipped kitchen with all you need to cook up a tasty dinner after a day of seaside adventures. You can enjoy eating together around the dining table as you share your memories of the day, then move through to the living room and catch up on your favourite TV shows. If you fancy some time away from the group, you can curl up with a good book in the sun room and make the most of the additional space. Upstairs, you will find a large master bedroom with its own en-suite shower room, a twin bedroom and a double. On return from one of your adventures, the family bathroom beckons with a bath tub and separate shower, while outside you can relax in the lawned garden or enjoy a refreshing drink on the patio surrounded by planted borders. Whilst Connaught Gardens is tucked away in a lovely residential area, it is still only a short distance from Weymouth’s award-winning beach, historic harbour and town centre. Chesil Beach, with its spectacular pebble bank is just two miles in the other direction and provides incredible views along the Jurassic Coastline. The National Sailing Academy is slightly further along Chesil Beach, while intrepid coastal explorers can venture out to Lulworth Cove in the opposite direction and discover its famous 'Fossil Forest'. Don’t forget the energetic walk to Durdle Door – a much loved Dorset site and one of the most photographed landmarks in the region, a must-visit. Connaught Gardens provides a delightful holiday home from which to explore Dorset at any time of the year.

Weymouth is a popular seaside resort with beautiful sandy beaches, excellent water sports facilities, and a picturesque harbor that offers regular day trips to the Channel Islands. This exceptional holiday destination offers many visitor attractions for all ages and tastes. Portland Harbour and the ruggedly beautiful "Isle" of Portland, linked to Weymouth by the stunning Chesil Beach, are both a short drive away. Thomas Hardy's inspiration for "Casterbridge", the town of Dorchester, is just seven miles away, and a drive along the scenic coast road takes you to Abbotsbury Swannery and Subtropical Gardens. The views of the stunning Dorset Heritage Coastline from West Bay are also well worth taking the time to see.

I absolutely recommend it for 4 to 5 people. The only things I have to mention negatively are all related to cleaning and the maintenance of kitchen and bathroom equipment. On arrival there were crumbs on the floor, hairs in the shower and very dirty windows. There is also mould in the shower. The dishwasher needs deep cleaning and new salt and rinse liquid. The dryer needs cleaning. The tableware was not very clean on arrival. There was no towel at the downstairs toilet, no surplus rolls of toilet paper, only one kitchen towel, 3 tabs for the dishwasher. And except a very dirty hoover no other cleaning materials were available. My daughter found dead insects behind the bedside tables in the small double room that she removed. All this issues need to be resolved. The photos in the advert show a nicely decorated house. In reality half of the things are not there or hidden in cupboards. This was our 3rd house of Sykes and before we never had issues regarding cleanliness. Therefore I was a bit disappointed.

Spacious and everything there for your comfort and more, and what a selection of books Wow! better than some libraries. We will hopefully stay next year when we are coming to visit our family who live locally a shame it’s not to let during the winter.

Feels like our 2nd home now. We would move here tomorrow if we could. Perfect location, especially for cycling. Close enough to amenities but quite enough to not have any disturbances. Lovely peaceful cul-de-sac We will be returning next year if not sooner.
