Osmington is famous for the White Horse and Rider sculpted into the hill, it can be seen for miles around. It is possible to walk to the White Horse from the property along The South Dorset Ridgeway, a lovely route that runs through the village all the way to West Bexington. Due to its elevated position this walk provides stunning views across Weymouth Bay towards Portland. After a busy day exploring, the village boasts the family friendly Sunray Pub and Restaurant to refuel, just a few minutes stroll from the property.The nearest beach to the property is Bowleaze Cove, a short drive away. It is a sand and shingle beach with rock pools to explore at low tide. The traditional seaside resort of Weymouth is within a fifteen minute drive and boasts a sandy beach complete with Punch and Judy show and donkey rides in the summer. In Weymouth you will also find an abundance of shops, restaurants and cafes to enjoy as well as numerous attractions such as The Sea Life Park and Marine Sanctuary.

My family (me, my husband, two teenage daughters and 11 year old son + dog) stayed in Serenity Cottage for 4 nights just after Christmas. The cottage is the annexe of the owners' main property and is in the lovely village of Osmington. The cottage was very cozy and furnished comfortably with everything we needed including wifi. The beds were very comfy, the bathroom very clean and spacious and the downstairs open plan area was great. There was also a pretty patio area outside. The village had some nice walks nearby and was only a short drive to Dorchester or Weymouth and some lovely walks along the beach. We had great fish and chips from Preston fish and chip shop and the local shops were just down the road so handy for everything else we needed. The owners of the cottage were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend Serenity Cottage for a relaxing and peaceful break.
