Located a short drive from the coast in South East Dorset, The Old Post Office Cottage is a really special holiday home sleeping up to eight that evokes feelings of visiting an Enid Blyton story location. Tucked away along a tree lined lane, this beautiful cottage boasts many original features including a flagstone kitchen floor and post box in the front wall. The cottage was the village post office for many decades, and now is a warm and welcoming home that will steal your heart. The large garden wraps around the house and provides plenty of space for exploration or a sunny patio to relax. Just a 10-minute drive from the stunning Jurassic coastline at Kimmeridge, you will find the Etches collection of fossils and the Marine centre to explore. Hungry for some good Dorset food, then Clavell's Restaurant and coffee shop is an ideal place to stop. The heritage coastline sites of Lulworth and Durdle Door are a short car journey away. Highly recommended is Studland Bay (just around a 10-minute drive away) which is a vast area of sandy beaches and heathland owned by The National Trust. If you fancy delving into the world of Enid Blyton, Corfe Castle, a location appearing in many of her books, is only a 10-minute drive away. The town of Wareham is also 10-minutes away and offers all the local amenities you need including supermarkets, swimming pool and restaurants including the reputedly great Priory Hotel, Old Granary and The Salt Pig, a shop selling excellent local produce with a small informal restaurant. Wareham also has a small high street including a traditional butcher, Curtis Butcher on West Street.

First Floor. Bedroom 1, King Size Double bed. Bedroom 2, Double bed, Bedroom 3, Twin Single beds. Bedroom 4, Twin single children's bed - 5'5" x 2'6" TBC. Shower room with shower, hand basin and toilet.

We had an absolutely tremendous week at the Old Post Office Cottage, an absolute peach of a holiday cottage. We felt very honoured to be entrusted with this clearly much-loved house, and felt utterly at home. The cottage has such a lovely atmosphere, set off by the interesting furniture, books, pictures and excellent selection of cookware! Thank goodness for sharp knives and decent pans.. and great selection of things to keep small children amused. And what a garden! And the location! What I would give to own a house like this. I can't say enough good things about it, and about the great experience we've had with Dream Cottages, and the caretakers of the cottage. I except we will be booking with you again very soon. Great location, quiet but only a short drive to the majority of local attractions. Garden perfect for relaxing in especially with the good weather. Would definitely consider again when looking for a larger property. Stayed June 2018
