Snaptrip says

Guests are generally pleased with New Barn, highlighting its cleanliness, comfortable amenities, and serene location ideal for dog walkers and exploring Dorset. The property's thoughtful touches, such as welcome gifts, and well-maintained grounds are appreciated, though some guests mention issues with flies and hard beds. The enclosed gardens are a hit with pet owners, and the property's cleanliness under Covid measures is particularly noted.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Reviews frequently praise the cleanliness of New Barn, with several guests specifically mentioning how clean the property is, even under the scrutiny of Covid-19 precautions. A few isolated comments about dust and flies slightly detract from an otherwise high standard of cleanliness.

The location is consistently described as lovely and quiet, ideal for dog walking and close to Dorset beauty spots. The rural setting is appreciated for its tranquillity, though some guests note the necessity of driving to reach other activities.

Comfort is well-regarded with the property offering a cosy atmosphere and well-equipped spaces. However, a few guests have mentioned that the beds are too hard for their preference, which suggests room for improvement in this area.

Facilities are generally praised, especially the well-equipped kitchens and the bonus of a games room. However, there are comments about the closure of the games room, issues with flies, and some maintenance concerns like tap problems and a lack of outdoor seating, which slightly lower the score.

The thoughtfulness of the hosts is evident in the welcome gifts and attention to detail, such as providing milk, tea, and even a cake on arrival. While these gestures are highly appreciated, it is noted that such gifts are subject to availability and not guaranteed.

Had our border collie with us and felt confident that she was secure in the garden. Would certainly recommend.

  • Jackie

It was clean, comfortable and well thought out as to decor and furnishings. It was well stocked even for our four legged friends, a spare bowl just in case it had been forgotten. A cottage that is well situated within Dorset so you can visit coast or country. A place we will be happy to come back to.
