… just 300 yards from the centre of Chagford with its pubs and shops, a Grade II listed, thatched, terraced cottage on the winding street leading up into the town. It has been lovingly restored to reflect its 1750s origins and the owner’s fondness for things from a bygone age. It is cosy and homely inside, with small gravelled patio and pretty lawned garden to the rear.
Steps from pavement into comfortable living room with inglenook fireplace (woodburner) and TV/DVD; small, well-fitted kitchen (washing machine, microwave) with beams, and lovely, light and airy conservatory/dining room. Large glazed doors open to the patio (table/chairs), from which steps up to garden. Slate floors (rugs) throughout downstairs. From living room, door to original very steep, narrow and winding elm staircase (stairgate, unsuitable for very young children/elderly). Upstairs, two bedrooms – at the front, a double (TV/DVD) and, at the back, a pretty single with view over the garden. Bathroom (suite with claw-footed cast-iron bath). Elm floors (rugs) upstairs. A cosy and convenient base with a touch of nostalgia.

"Cottage location and cleanliness is excellent. Chagford is a lovely village to stay. Plenty of walks right from the door. The Chagford Inn serves fantastic locally reared beef. Bluebell cottage is a lovely homely cottage to enjoy all that Chaagford has to offer."

"Absolutely delightful stay at the Bluebell Cottage! After a day of roaming the hills we looked forward to returning to the cottage to relax in the cozy living room. Each morning we would enjoy our coffee in the bright sunroom with the view of the poppies in the garden. The kitchen was so well outfitted that we cooked most of our meals in, so we would have the evening for a walk along the river or hike up to Nattadon Hill to watch the sunset. It was so convenient to walk up the street to the butcher, baker, and local grocery. We stayed a week but will be back for much longer next time!"

"Bluebell Cottage a lovely home from home for a holiday in Dartmoor. Cosy, well equipped, and central in Chagford, which is the perfect village base, with all the essentials - several good food pubs, a well stocked shop, restaurants, cafes, a bakery, butchers, and chemist, to name but a few! Great location for beautiful walks on the moor, as well as day trips to the Devon and Cornish coast. This was our 2nd stay in Bluebell Cottage, and won't be our last, I hope!"
