About this property

Attached to the owners' home, this lovely cottage provides cosy and comfortable accommodation in a rural location set in Bradford, North Devon. Set on a smallholding with plenty of sheep, chickens, (eggs available) ducks and geese and offering a truly countryside break but with easy access to the beautiful coastal areas, it's a peaceful location for a family or couples holiday. Two lovely bedrooms await you, and the open plan kitchen, dining and sitting area is comfortable and snug with a wood burning stove. Step through the patio doors and enjoy an enclosed garden with views across the fields, perfect for that glass of wine at the end of a busy day touring. Bradford is a small village just 6 miles from the market town of Holsworthy where you can get all grocery needs. A 30 minute drive will take you the amazing sandy beaches along the North Devon and Cornwall coast where you can laze in the sun or try your hand at some surfing. Walkers will love both the countryside rambles and the cliff top walks along the coast with stunning views. A terrific choice for lovers of the great outdoors.

The ancient market town of Holsworthy lies nestled amid the rolling green hills of Tarka Country. There are many different landscapes within the region, from rugged cliffs and sandy beaches to rolling farmland and lush valleys. Holsworthy has much to offer, including a swimming pool, tennis court and splendid park with bowling green. The town centre boasts a varied selection of traditional shops, pubs and cafés, based around the market square. There is an 18-hole golf course just outside the town, while the local area is rich with opportunities for fishing, sailing, cycling and walking. The sandy beaches at Bude are within easy reach, while further afield visitors can explore the changing face of the South West Coastal Path, dramatic Exmoor and Dartmoor, and unspoilt Bodmin Moor, or simply relax in the quiet countryside that typifies North Devon.

The owners, Sally and Charlie, had decorated the property for Christmas for us and provided us with a lovely Christmas hamper and also one for the 4 legged family member Roscoe. There was also a cream tea set out for our arrival which was amazing and the log burner was lit! The cottage was cosy but spacious and very comfortable for us, beds were comfy as were the sofas. The property is well maintained and felt like home. Great hosts who are next door should you need anything. Amazing to watch all the different birds coming to the bird feeders in the rear garden. We had a great break at Goslings.

Beds beautifully clean as was kitchen and bathroom. We were warm and had lots off hot water. A little detail to cobwebs especially in small bedroom and dust. We had a lovely time and visited many places. The welcome we received from the owner was great,we had,had a long drive and it was raining and cold, the fire was alight and the heating on,and a lovely cream tea was waiting for us.

Our stay was wonderful! The cream tea on arrival was absolutely lovely and much needed after a journey and the lit fire was most welcoming on a cold evening. The cottage is lovely and cosy and has absolutely everything you will need. We looked forward to returning to it every evening after a day out. And the bed has to be the most comfortable I have ever slept in! I’d have the best night sleeps there and would look forward to getting back into bed every evening! The cottage has a garden too, which unfortunately as it rained for most of our stay, we didn’t get to spend much time in, but it was lovely to look out to and watch all the little birds feeding. Charlie, the owner is so helpful and friendly and is just next door. I would recommend purchasing some of his honey and eggs. They are delicious! We purchased some for ourselves and some to bring back as gifts for relatives. My daughters didn’t want to leave and my eldest said she’d like to move in forever! We would absolutely love to come back to stay here again, we are expecting a little boy in the spring so would love to return later next year and in the meantime, I’ll definitely be recommending The Goslings to others!
