About this property

... in Kingston, two marvellously pretty 18th cent. semi-detached cottages, south-facing and 200 yards from the good pub. Communal terrace, and each has its own entrance and small, enclosed, private garden. The gardens are delightful, unusual, with interesting plants and Kingston’s last remaining donkey house (no donkey now). The cottages share free membership of Bigbury Golf Club (unlimited rounds, practice facilities). Interconnecting door (lockable), so if booked together the cottages can accommodate 10. Quaint, characterful cottages in a pretty village.

Rambling Rose Cottage, next door to L254, is a charming old cottage with its own private secluded garden, patio with table/chairs, brick-built barbecue and small summer house. Entrance via a little footpath and stable doors to utility room with washing machine, tumble drier, through to beamed dining room with original (ornamental) fireplace, old pine table seating 10. Steps down to smart fitted kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, freezer, larder fridge, 'secret' door to L254 and glazed porch to communal terrace and enclosed private garden. Pretty living room with woodburner and TV/DVD/Blu-ray. First set of stairs (stairgate) up from living room to two bedrooms – a double (5’ bed, washbasin), and a room with two singles - and bathroom (suite, shower over bath). The second set of stairs is steep (handrail) from the dining room to a double bedroom (5' bed) with old polished-wide planked floor and panelling made from local shipwreck timbers and en suite shower-room (suite).

  • Paul, Charlie, Harry, and Harvey dog!

"We had a great stay and enjoyed everything about Rambling Rose Cottage, it had everything we wanted. The village was ideally located for many places to visit and the people we met were very friendly. We paid a few visits to the local pub, The Dolphin Inn, and ate their on a few occasions, the food and staff were great. The Pickwick Inn was also good for food as was the Hope & Anchor at Hope Cove. Hayley the caretaker was very helpful and I'm sure we will be going back."

"An excellent holiday at Rambling Rose Cottage in Kingston, well placed for exploring South Hams, the beautiful Wonwell Beach, and the Coastal Path. In our case, well placed for Plymouth University Graduation Day on Plymouth Hoe!"
