… a mile from Poundsgate, a spacious and welcoming cottage, the wing of a large former farmhouse made completely separate and private with your own entrance off the quiet leafy lane that winds down to the pretty river Dart crossing at New Bridge (300 yards, riverside walks, kayaking). At the front, enclosed garden with drive/forecourt area and steps up to a grassy terrace (picnic bench, big trees) alongside fields where the owners’ friendly alpacas (and occasionally lambs) graze and take shade.
Inside, light, lofty rooms with thoughtfully chosen furnishings and artwork; high-ceilinged entrance hall/sitting area with pew, armchairs, woodburner; 3 steps down to living/dining room (TV/DVD/video, gas ‘living flame’ fire) with lovely leafy outlook from all windows. Neat fitted kitchen (dishwasher, microwave, table-top freezer, larder fridge, pantry); linking kitchen and entrance hall, a utility/boot room with washing machine, tumble drier, sink. Ground-floor shower-room (suite). Upstairs, three bedrooms, all with leafy garden views – the airy master double (5’ bed), and two twin (one with limited clothes-hanging space). Family bathroom (suite, shower over bath). Concessionary rates available for owners’ guided Dartmoor walks/electric bicycle tours. A peaceful moorland spot; beautiful walks from the door and easy access (4 miles) to A38/Ashburton with its individual shops and places to eat.
