About this property

braunton temperance cottage overview

braunton temperance cottage has been lovingly decorated throughout, creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere, a real home from home in the bustling village of Braunton. Original fireplaces and beamed ceilings remain, with a modern, bright, seaside feel. 3 bedrooms sleep 6, and there is a splendid outdoor space with raised deck, BBQ and far reaching views.

Braunton village is within easy reach of the fantastic beaches of Saunton, Croyde, Putsborough and Woolacombe. If you enjoy cycling or walking, the renowned Tarka trail can be accessed from the village and this follows the Taw and Torridge estuaries. The ideal base for dog walkers and ramblers, this home from home is perfect for families, groups of friends and weekend surf breaks. Unfortunately the old design of the cottage makes it inaccessible to those who are less mobile and small children would need to be supervised in the raised gardens.

living areas

The cosy living room with fireplace and original stone wall is the perfect place to curl up in front of the TV and watch a movie. The gas effect wood burning stove saves you having to bring in the wood and clear out the ash. Children and adults will be entertained by the flatscreen TV, PlayStation with games, and iPod dock. Two sofas seat 6 and there is a double glazed sash window and original artwork by local artists.

“Really helpful staff, spoke to a lady on the phone who was very patient and helpful. The house was beautiful, lovely place to get away from the city. Perfect for surfing too. ”

Fantastic find, ticks all the boxes! Left on Apr 2, 2017 for a stay in Mar 2017 Fantastic cottage, beautifully prepared for us to feel at home from the moment we walked in. Good sized rooms, full of light and space. Cosy, clean and with all that you need to ensure a relaxing stay. Braunton is a wonderful village with high quality restaurants serving huge portions at small prices all within about 5 mins stroll from the front door. Friendly locals were keen to recommend sights and visits to enhance our stay and they were always right! Local beaches are perfect for all age groups....we enjoyed long walks along the golden sands of a different beach each day, all within a short drive with easy parking at our destination. Whether you are a surfer, a sitter, a sunbather or an explorer, these beaches and surroundings have something for everyone. This cottage was a great find and offered a perfect balance between peace and calm alongside activity and ambling about. Kids (and dogs) would love all that the area has to offer and adults can relax knowing they have made the ideal choice!
