About this property

Ivy Cottage is a delightful and spacious country house set in a beautiful landscaped garden with lawns, sun trap patios and wonderful views down the Amber Valley. Inside it is attractively decorated and very comfortably furnished. The lovely lounge with its log burning stove and the attractive garden room with French doors to the garden are our favourite places.

Milltown is a peaceful village, gathered around the Miners Arms pub and with lots of leafy lanes leading off into the countryside. There are walks galore in this beautiful valley. Wander along to Ashover with its village stores and three more pubs or set off in the opposite direction to find Ogston Reservoir with its colourful dinghies bobbing about on the waves.

Matlock Bath with the Heights of Abraham cable cars, Lumsdale with its secret waterfalls and the Peak Steam Railway are a must for adults and children alike. So too is Carsington Water with all its water sport activities, cycle hire and adventure playground. Add a visit to stately Chatsworth House, a nostalgic tram ride at the National Tramway Museum and a trip into the wilds of the Peak District National Park and you will need to stay for a second week.

Cottage facilities:

A lovely lounge with comfortable suite, T.V., DVD, Freeview, Wi-Fi and glowing log burning stove. A sunny garden room with T.V. DVD, log effect gas stove and French doors to the garden. An oak floored dining room. A quality fitted kitchen with breakfast bar, gas hob, double oven, microwave, fridge, freezer and dishwasher. A utility room with sink, automatic washer and tumble-dryer. A master bedroom with double bed and views down the valley. A second double bedroom with en-suite shower cubicle and views over the garden. A twin bedroom and a single bedroom of the same quality. A superb family bathroom with bath/shower over and WC. A downstairs shower room with W.C.

Linen and towels are provided.  Central heating, power and an initial supply of logs for the stove are included. There is an extensive terraced garden with summer house, furniture and shed storage for bikes. Off road parking for two cars is available. Pets and smokers are not permitted. The house is not suitable for children under eight years because of the steep terraced garden. Access for people with disabilities may be difficult. Bookings are from Friday to Friday.

Short breaks are available throughout the year (excluding Xmas and New Year).
