The apartment is completed with a contemporary bathroom, with a large walk-in shower, perfect to refresh before a day amongst the Derbyshire countryside. Whilst The Loft at The George is perfect for a self-catering staycation, there's also an on-site gastro restaurant and pub to take advantage of, a perfect dine-out option; you'll also find additional restaurants and eateries in the centre of Clay Cross, ideal for avid foodies. Once you're ready to explore the county, head for an outdoor adventure to Aston Springs Farm, see the Peak District from an elevated position at Heights of Abraham, or hike across Lathkill Dale, a stunning valley within the National Park. For a historical activity, explore Bolsover Castle, experience the mining heritage of the county at Peak District Mining Museum, or tour the Tudor grounds of Bakewell Old House Museum. Sherwood Forest Railway, Chatsworth House, and Black Rocks are all popular attractions to also visit whilst calling Derbyshire your home-from-home. Choose The Loft at The George for a family-friendly dwelling.

Clay Cross is a small village near the Peak District National Park's boundary. There are numerous shops, taverns, and superb restaurants in the town. The old market town of Chesterfield, which serves as the gateway to the Peak District and has much to offer visitors, is only a few miles away. The town's 14th-century church is known for its "Crooked Spire," which twists strangely from its actual centre, and the town's regular hectic market days are great for visiting the many diverse speciality shops and stalls that line the old Market Hall and lovely Shambles beyond. Queens Park, with its boating lake, footpaths, and summer bandstand, as well as a museum and theatre, are all located in the town.

We were warned about possible noise from the pub downstairs, from the entertainment, but this was a little louder than expected (but we did stay on New Year’s Eve, so it wasn’t a problem). Comfortable rooms and living area. Warm and clean. Near to shops/ pubs and restaurants.

Clean and tidy with a welcome pack of breakfast goods and beverages. Kitchen has all mod cons including dishwasher. Only slight problem is the uneven floors - little unexpected steps in the hall corridor and into the bedrooms. But we got used to them.
