Everything you needed in the property, garden big enough to let your pooch have a roam and explore or simply watch the goings on if the farm next door! Village was great for walks to near by local routes. We even stumbled upon the village orchard which had an abundance of apples, pears and plums. Property was close enough to main routes to other villages or surrounding towns. Owners were great with communication and easy to reach on the phone as don’t live nearby but nothing was a problem for them. Would return for sure we would! Thanks for a great week!

The gate was heavy and stiff and was insecure. Garden shed and table was broken, chairs had been exposed to the elements so even if the weather was nice we wouldn't have been able to sit out in it. Simple things like cobwebs over windows and doors were not a welcome sight upon arrival. Kitchen was nice. Lounge is needing updating sofa was so uncomfortable. A bad use of the limited space in there. Shelves to hold cables was cluttered and to use a 5 socket extension is probably not the best idea! Slugs in the lounge overnight was a big issue. Bathroom was OK, shower was very poor. Kids bedroom was nicely decorated and bunk bed was comfortable. Main bedroom was ok but we found the bed to be uncomfortable. Heating in the cottage was an issue although it was summer the weather was very poor and the house needed heating up only 3 radiators worked. All in all we wouldn't return to this cottage or Brough as the village is lacking in any life at all. Probably the first bad review I've written but with the owners 60 miles away I feel they need to improve the cottage maintenance staff.
