About this property

This ground-floor apartment sits in a wonderful position in the Troutbeck Valley in Troutbeck, amidst the beauty of the Lake District. Affording a spectacular position with glorious views just off the dramatic Kirkstone Pass, Valley View is a superb escape for a family looking to holiday in this AONB. After a day of wandering the hills, look forward to curling up in the lounge and catching up on your favourite shows from the Smart TV. Move into the kitchen/diner, fitted with a host of appliances including an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge and freezer, whilst the dishwasher can assist with the cleaning up and the washer/dryer caters for your laundry needs. Take a seat at the dining table and toast to a much-needed escape with your nearest and dearest, whilst those balmy evenings can be best enjoyed within the lawned garden. Choose either of the double bedrooms to lay your rest, with the master occupying an en-suite shower room and the other having access to the bathroom. Just a short distance away lies the centre of Troutbeck, where you can fuel up with a hearty pub lunch before tackling the walking trails meandering out of the village and through Wansfell Pike and Jenkin Crag. A little further afield lies the amenities of Windermere, home to a vibrant selection of restaurants, cafés, pubs and takeaways, whilst the shores of Lake Windermere provide opportunity for boat cruises and sailing. Head north to Ambleside and box off the scenic Stock Ghyll Force waterfall, a number of attractive art galleries and Library & Museum Centre, offering an insight into the history of the area. Why not visit Cumbria's coast and embark on a seaside outing or travel further inland to the popular town of Kendal? However you choose to spend your holiday time, return to the delights of Valley View to recharge your batteries.

The small Lakeland village of Troutbeck can be found between its more famous neighbours Windermere and Ambleside, close by the Kirkstone Pass. A mixture of houses, cottages and farms, the village is scattered along a narrow lane bordered by a drystone wall. Many of these buildings date back to the 17th Century with features such as mullioned windows and heavy cylindrical chimneys and the northern end boasts its own 17th century inn. Close by, the bustling towns of Windermere and Ambleside are popular with visitors, providing a range of amenities to suit all tastes. Lake Windermere offers boat trips, including the lakeside ferry to the Lakeside Aquarium and Grizedale Forest Park. The ‘Windermere Steamboat Museum’ displays a fascinating collection of boats whilst children will enjoy the ‘World of Beatrix Potter’ in Bowness, where technology brings her characters to life. Within easy reach of destinations such as Coniston Water, Kendal, Keswick and the Lakeland Mountains, Troutbeck is ideally situated for exploring all that the region has to offer.

Nice and warm, had everything we needed, secluded but near pubs and shops. Some minor complaints would be finding a stick on nail in the bedroom and the smart tv not connecting to the wifi. These were outweighed by the positives and we would definitely like to return to valley view in the future.
