This characterful, Cotswold stone, end-of-row holiday cottage is situated in the charming village of Avening. The village has a pub within easy walking distance which is attached to an Indian restaurant. This also does take aways for an relaxing night in. Nearby is Gatcombe Park, the home of the Princess Royal. There are some lovely walks around the village and surrounding beautiful countryside. Folly Cottage itself was beautiful and very well equipped but as many previous guests have stated a welcome pack would have been nice especially after a 5 hour drive to be able to make a cup of tea before having to turn out again to go shopping would have been nice. We have stayed in cottages in UK for over 10 years and never not had a welcome pack before.We booked this cottage as we stayed with our dog due to the fact that this cottage had an enclosed garden, but it would have been helpful if the details had highlighted that the enclosed garden was not attached to the cottage. Only a front door to the cottage which had a path for access to other cottages then another part of your garden not enclosed, then your parking area then your enclosed garden. So leads needs every time to go outside.

A family holiday It was very tastefully decorated. Comfortable. Lovely garden and surroundings. Very friendly village. Everything was fine.
