Finished to a high standard with contemporary décor that blends with the original character features, it boasts a secluded roof terrace and is an ideal base for exploring the beautiful South Cotswolds for a gathering of friends or a family.

Three steps lead you up to the front door, which opens into the welcoming entrance hall with a rack to store your coats and boots.

The beautiful parquet flooring leads you into the sitting room that is bathed in natural light through its original windows and is finished to an exceptionally high standard, with exposed beams and an oriental silk rug; get the open fire crackling away to warm up the room and look forward to chilling out on the inviting seating of an evening.

A step leads you up to the open-plan kitchen/diner, where the stunning marble topped island takes centre stage. Finished to a contemporary design, you can look forward to making use of the appliances to rustle up delicious home-cooked meals and retreating to the wooden dining table with your loved ones to tuck into your meal and toast a glass to the start of your holiday! Music buffs will be delighted to find an antique piano located in this room.

Double doors lead you into the handy utility room, which benefits from a washer/dryer, and the final room on the ground floor is a useful cloakroom.

Upstairs, a beautiful Cotswold stone wall welcomes you onto the floor, as you enter into the delightful snug room, with a welcoming sofa that opens up to a 4ft double bed, as well as beautiful décor and access onto the stunning roof terrace which is a peaceful spot for enjoying the sunshine, with tall walls lined with seating and a glass top table cleverly looking down into the dining room below. Pour yourself a glass of your favourite wine, switch on the hurricane lamps and electric candles and enjoy a moment of solitude.

Before heading to bed, treat yourself to a relaxing soak amongst the bubbles in the wonderful sunken bath in the bathroom, before making your way to one of the homely bedrooms. Bedroom 2 rests on the first-floor, containing a king-size bed, and the master bedroom is accessed up a steep staircase that leads directly into the stunning dual aspect room, where you can lay your head in the king-size bed.

In the morning, get ready for a wonderful day out for your first day in Tetbury which is a bustling market town which is steeped in history

The town has an impressive Grade l listed Market House which hosts many events throughout the year, and in addition to notable buildings, Tetbury is also home to many wonderful antique shops, tearooms, restaurants and pubs, as well as the Chipping Steps and the Highgrove shop, selling organic food and luxury homeware inspired by the nearby Royal Gardens at Highgrove, home to the Prince of Wales.

Avid walkers and cyclists will be delighted to find Woodchester Park nearby, which is owned by the National Trust, and includes a play trail, walking trails and café, and Westonbirt Arboretum, just four miles away which covers 600 acres and features 2,500 species of tree from all over the world.

Make your way over to Beverston to discover Chavenage House, a stately home which features in many period dramas.

The Cotswold Country Park and Beach offers a fun day out for all the family to enjoy, where you can enjoy long walks around the lake and grab a coffee and snack from the café, or relaxing with your loved ones on the sandy beach beside a beautiful swimming lagoon, or enjoy activities from water sports to mini golf within the beautiful parkland.

At Elephant Cottage, you are within close proximity of the market town and civil parish of Stroud, which offers an array of amenities, attractions, restaurants and pubs. You can brush up on your history knowledge with a visit to Museum in the Park, or take a stroll around one of the many markets that the town offers, such as Shambles Market, held every Friday and Saturday.

Elephant Cottage is the perfect choice for spending a wonderful holiday in the Cotswolds.

Tetbury retains a wealth of character within its ancient streets. The town’s origins date back to 681, but it was during the Middle Ages that it flourished as one of the major markets for The Cotswold wool trade. Nowadays The Market Hall is still home to a busy general market every Wednesday, whilst the town as a whole is something of a mecca for antique hunters with several shops in the town and regular fairs in the vicinity. Closeby is the Forestry Commission’s Westonbirt Arboretum, one of the largest collections of rare shrubs and trees in Europe, whilst further afield (but still within easy driving distance) are the elegant Regency cities of Bath and Cheltenham, Shakespeare’s Stratford and other attractions such as the internationally renowned Slimbridge Wildfowl Trust.

Very comfortable cozy cottage. Spacious kitchen diner, high end finish and appliances. Thoughtful lighting and plenty of nice cushions/blankets for snuggling up on the sofa. Comfortable beds and nice bed linen. Really lovely village location. Independent shops, nice eateries and pubs. We tried Snooty Fox and Royal Oak for drinks, both very nice. We ate at Lola and Co, fabulous find, family run Very high end tapas/drinks. Traffic noise from the front of the house, with traffic flying past the front door, I guess double glazing isn't allowed. Would highly recommend Tetbury and Elephant Cottage.

The Cottage itself has heritage character yet it’s also stylish and modern! We absolutely loved the open fireplace and the piano was a bonus! The property was very clean and tidy, fresh sheets and towels beautifully arranged. The location is ideal and only a short walk to town to visit local cafes, restaurants, shops and much more! The owners were amazing to deal with and very welcoming and accommodating. Thank you Adam and Viv, we loved your cottage and highly recommend it to others.
