Stow-on-the-Wold, Gloucestershire is an ancient market town in the highest town in the Cotswolds, and was originally an Iron Age Fort. The location was just right, in a quiet courtyard but central to the town. It was so calm and peaceful. We also found the people of Stow to be very friendly and helpful.

The garden is ideal with a pet and parking directly outside the cottage. Lots of amenities on the doorstep. To make the cottage perfect a washer/dryer would be a sensible addition - there is no washing line and only a clothes airer to dry any walking clothes which is not ideal given the British weather. There is a lack of storage in the kitchen which makes it difficult if you are self-catering - there is an abundance of kitchen equipment which could be reduced to give some limited storage space. Would highly recommend this as a great cottage to stay in and will look to come back next year.

It was spotless from top to bottom One thing I would like to point out was that the refuse bin was completely full. I certainly would have put it out but the week we were there it was recycling collection. We were lucky the weather was excellent but if it had been raining there was no place to hang wet clothing.
