About this property

The Cottage at Robins Roost is a fabulous holiday home resting in the idyllic village of Little Rissington; the perfect base for a small gathering of friends or family alike to enjoy a relaxing holiday to the stunning Cotswolds.

Upon arrival on the grounds of Robin Roost, park your car in the allocated tandem parking space and make your way to the front door which opens into an open-plan living space with kitchen, dining area and sitting area, which is an elegantly furnished, well-lit space with flagstone flooring, striking exposed beams, and all the facilities you and your guests will need during your stay to rustle up delicious home-cooked meals. The sofa bed can be made up to a double bed on request for an additional two guests.

A handy boot room, shared with the owners, completes the ground floor and is a convenient space for storing coats and muddy boots after a long day exploring Little Rissington.

When sleep calls, head up the stairs into the eaves of the property where you will find the tastefully decorated, dual aspect king-size bedroom and a shower room adjacent to the room, containing an invigorating walk-in shower.

Once you’ve rested your head for the night, head down into the kitchen to make a warming cup of coffee, before retreating through the tri-fold doors into the gravel courtyard to breath in the fresh country air.

Stunning countryside surrounds Little Rissington, and you will find a number of walks and cycle routes on your doorstep, including those over to Great Rissington, home to The Lamb Inn, and others towards the much-loved Cotswold village of Bourton-on-the-Water, often referred to as the ‘Venice of the Cotswolds’ due to the low arched bridges that cross over the River Windrush, which boasts a variety of popular shops and attractions such as Cotswolds Antiques and Tea Room and the lovely Kingsbridge riverside pub, as well as Birdland Park and Gardens where you can enjoy the wildlife. Greystones Farm & Nature Reserve is home to wildflower meadows and a working organic farm; offering time out from the hustle and bustle of the village centre, this reserve is open to public all year round.

For a touch of history, head to Stow-on-the-Wold, which is the highest of the Cotswold villages, and take a walk around the market square where you will find the town stock at one end which dates back to the 15th Century and is shaded by an old Elm Tree or take a stroll over to St Edward’s Parish Church where you will find the enchanting looking tree surrounded doorway.

Discover over 250 species of animals and be inspired by the beautiful landscaping and seasonal displays at Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens, located in Burford, known as the ‘Southern gateway to the Cotswolds’.

For an unforgettable trip to the Cotswolds, choose The Cottage as your base.

Little Rissington is a quiet village outside the popular destination of Bourton-on-the-Water, Little Rissington is worth visiting for its 12th century church with its moving memorial to RAF servicemen. The village styling is typical for the Cotswolds; small cottages fronted by flower-boxes.

Associations are always made between the village and RAF Little Rissington, the air base which was located relatively close. The base is gone now, though buildings still remain and have now become the new village of Upper Rissington, and the aerodrome is now used for hang-gliding.

The main attraction is the 12th century church, which lies apart from the village up a short path to the west of the road. On Pound Lane is a row of Cotswold stone cottages described as perhaps the best example in Gloucestershire of 17th century vernacular building.
