About this property

Chipping Campden 1.8 miles

Church Orchard Cottage is a 16th century Cotswold stone detached farm cottage with two stunning bedrooms, sleeping four guests, nestled in Weston Subedge. It is the perfect rural retreat for a gathering of friends or a small family seeking a relaxing break surrounded by the glorious Cotswold countryside.

You are welcomed onto the property by a gated driveway which houses up to two cars, as you unload your luggage through the gabled porch, which is a useful space for storing coats and shoes, before heading through the stable door into the small hallway and into the elegant sitting room which has been lovingly decorated to a neutral palette and give you a warming feeling as soon as you step inside, so slouch back into the two-seater or three-seater sofa’s and get the woodburning stove crackling away to warm you on a cold evening.

Once you’ve had a chance to relax, step up the small step through the internal French doors into the luxurious kitchen/diner, where you can get the tunes playing through the iPod/Bluetooth dock and rustle up a delicious evening meal to enjoy gathered around the dining table as you toast to a wonderful holiday that lies ahead, underneath the moonlight shining through the glass roof lantern.

A handy cloakroom sits adjacent to the kitchen and contains a basin and WC.

As the evening grows darker, retire to one of the two thoughtfully laid-out bedrooms to rest your head, with the choice between a king-size room, boasting smart décor and antique light fittings with an eye-catching panelled feature wall, and a double bedroom with views overlooking the garden.

The property has a family bathroom boasting a bath with a shower over, so you can enjoy a luxurious soak amongst the bubbles or kick-start your day with a rejuvenating shower.

In the morning, make yourself an awakening beverage with help from the Nespresso coffee machine, before heading out into the enchanting south facing back garden that wraps around the cottage, where you will be surrounded by miniature box hedges and an array of beautiful flowers, shrubs and mature trees filling the raised beds at the borders, with an impressive date palm tree giving an exotic feel to the garden. Take a seat at the large outdoor table or head into the Boho themed summerhouse to enjoy a spacious bamboo seating area with heating and electricity to enable you to feel the lovely garden even in colder weather! Be sure to make use of the charcoal barbecue in warmer months, or have a late afternoon picnic on the lawn area which boasts contemporary dusk-to-dawn sensory lights.

Weston Subedge, lies at the foot of the Dover’s Hill which at the top, offers stunning views over the Vale of Evesham and sits within the Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, standing 230m above sea level, which you can use to walk to nearby Chipping Campden and enjoy a heart-warming breakfast at The Bantam Tea Rooms before talking a leisurely walk around the 17th century Market Hall in the centre of the town and the head over to East Banqueting House which is just a little further on, before finishing your day with a lovely meal at Eight Bells Inn.

Slightly further afield in Hidcote you will find a sizeable 20th century garden; Hidcote Manor Garden, which is run by the National Trust and is home to two lovely cafés, gorgeous gardens with narrow pathways and lawn games.
