About this property

Set within a picturesque rural location on the outskirts of the village of Chedworth and located on a working farm, this stunning country retreat is well-positioned for exploring the many charming villages and towns of the region.

Newport Meadows is a wonderful detached barn conversion, perfect for a group of friends or a family.

Ample parking on the gravel driveway welcomes you on arrival, as you unload your luggage into the bright lobby area and hang your coats on the hooks, kick off your shoes and enter into the bright and spacious kitchen/diner.

Rustle up heart-warming meals using the contemporary appliances such as the double electric oven and four-ring induction hob, as you retreat to the wooden dining table to uncork a bottle of wine and celebrate the start of your holiday.

Pop the dishes and cutlery in the dishwasher and move into the beautifully presented sitting room, with its wonderful exposed Cotswold stone feature wall and offering two separate seating areas to relax in. Get some logs on the woodburning stove and feel the warmth almost instantly warm the room!

Head into the study for some peace and quiet away from the group and overlook onto the peaceful garden.

Fear not if you return from an adventurous walk with dirty clothes, as you will find a washing machine and tumble dryer resting in the utility room.

Before heading to bed, treat yourself to a wonderous soak amongst the bubbles in the bath, or have an invigorating rinse down in the walk-in shower.

Choose from two homely bedrooms that sit on the first-floor; the master offers far-reaching rural views and contains a double bed, and the second is a warming room with twin beds. No need to walk down the stairs for the loo in the night, as there is a handy cloakroom on the first-floor with a basin and WC.

Catch the morning sunrise in the rear patio garden, overlooking the lawn area that is accessed up three stone steps, which looks over farmland that is home to grazing cattle; the perfect sight to wake up to! Be sure to make use of the charcoal barbecue on warmer days.

If you fancy a break out of the kitchen, you will find the Seven Tuns Inn close by, home to one of the best wine cellars in the region, as well as locally brewed beers on tap, offering a locally sourced menu in its converted barn restaurant.

Chedworth is home to one of the largest Roman Villas in Britain, owned by the National Trust, it is a place of wonder where you can discover the West Range and Museum and get an insight into 4th century life.

Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy the excellent scenic walks from the village including The Monarch’s Way and The Macmillan Way.

Ideally located in the centre of the Cotswolds, popular towns including Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold and Burford can all be discovered whilst staying in Chedworth. The market town of Cirencester and regency spa town Cheltenham are both easily accessible and have a variety of visitor attractions to explore.

Newport Meadows is a wonderful base for a holiday in the Cotswolds.

Cheltenham is a town in Gloucestershire and lies beneath Cleeve Hill, the highest point in the Cotswolds and above the vale of the River Severn. It is known as 'The Western Gateway to the Cotswolds'. This edge-of-the Cotswolds spa town is hard to beat for refined elegance and Regency terraces, annual festivals, Ladies' College and racecourse. Also fortnightly farmers markets, classy shops and restaurants all surrounded by glorious countryside. The town is home to the renowned Cheltenham Festival, 4 days of horse jump racing culminating in the Gold Cup, held annually in March at Cheltenham Racecourse. It's also known for Regency buildings, including the Pittville Pump Room, a remnant of Cheltenham’s past as a spa town. There's fine art at The Wilson museum, and the Victorian Everyman Theatre has an ornate auditorium.
