About this property

Little Mullions is a beautiful Grade II listed family home set on a peaceful lane in the heart of the idyllic English village of Little Rissington, close to the lovely village, Bourton-on-the-Water. This wonderful retreat has three well-presented bedrooms and is the perfect base for a relaxing getaway in a picturesque setting.

Park your car in the allocated parking space, just 100 yards from the property, and look forward to the wonderful abode that awaits you. The front door opens into a convenient entrance hall which is home to an attractive stone mullion window with a quaint window seat and is perfect for storing your coats and boots after a long day of exploring.

The tastefully decorated kitchen contains everything the budding chef of the group requires to cook up a delicious meal, before retreating with the whole group to the warm and inviting living/dining room to enjoy your meal at the dining table, overlooking the lane below, surrounded by wonderful flagstone flooring and a sweet Cotswold stone fireplace with a warming electric flame effect stove, to warm you on a cold evening.

As the evening draws to a close, head upstairs to the first floor where you have a choice of two elegantly decorated and spacious bedrooms; the master is a lovely dual aspect room with stone mullion windows offering quaint village views, home to a king-size bed (can be change to twin beds on request) and a single sofa bed (suitable for a child up to the age of 12 and available on request), with ample clothing storage space and a sweet ornamental Cotswold stone fireplace, the second bedroom has graceful painted wooden beams and a double bed, with plenty of hanging and drawer space.

The third bedroom is accessed by taking a further steep, narrow staircase up to the eaves of the property which has striking exposed beams and contains a welcoming king-size bed, with ample hanging and drawer space.

Once you’ve got some well-earned rest, enjoy a relaxing soak in the P-shaped bath before heading to the paved courtyard garden to eat your breakfast alfresco surrounded by flower beds full of colour, and two unique old butler sinks which have been upgraded to house herb gardens. Be sure to make use of the barbecue in warmer months.

A handy outhouse is home to a washing machine and tumble dryer so you and your guests can leave with a bag full of clean washing!

Little Rissington is a peaceful village surrounded by stunning countryside with a number of walks and cycle routes on its doorstep, including those over to Great Rissington, home to The Lamb Inn, and others towards the much-loved Cotswold village of Bourton-on-the-Water, often referred to as the ‘Venice of the Cotswolds’ due to the low arched bridges that cross over the River Windrush, boasts a variety of popular shops and attractions such as Cotswolds Antiques and Tea Room and the lovely Kingsbridge riverside pub, as well as Birdland Park and Gardens where you can surround yourself by wildlife. If you want to surround yourself with natural beauty, head to Greystones Farm & Nature Reserve which is home to wildflower meadows, working organic farm, Iron Age ramparts, a replica Iron Age roundhouse and an interactive Discovery Barn; offering time out from the hustle and bustle of the village centre, this reserve is open to public all year round and is not to be missed.

In just under 10 minutes in the car you will come to Stow-on-the-Wold which is the highest of the Cotswold villages, and is a small market town with an array of boutique shops, tea rooms, pubs and restaurants; you can visit the Fosse Gallery to admire an array of contemporary British art, indulge in a bite to eat and drinks at The Stag at Stow, or revel in the scrumptious tea and cakes at The Old Bakery Tea Room.

Burford, known as Southern “gateway to the Cotswolds” is perched upon a hill and the high street is lined with charming antique shops, boutique stores, and cafés, here you can visit Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens where you will find over 250 species of animals and be inspired by the beautiful landscaping and seasonal displays throughout the park.

Whatever the weather, Little Mullions is the perfect choice for you and your loved ones to enjoy a memorable trip to the Cotswolds.

Cheltenham is a town in Gloucestershire and lies beneath Cleeve Hill, the highest point in the Cotswolds and above the vale of the River Severn. It is known as 'The Western Gateway to the Cotswolds'. This edge-of-the Cotswolds spa town is hard to beat for refined elegance and Regency terraces, annual festivals, Ladies' College and racecourse. Also fortnightly farmers markets, classy shops and restaurants all surrounded by glorious countryside. The town is home to the renowned Cheltenham Festival, 4 days of horse jump racing culminating in the Gold Cup, held annually in March at Cheltenham Racecourse. It's also known for Regency buildings, including the Pittville Pump Room, a remnant of Cheltenham’s past as a spa town. There's fine art at The Wilson museum, and the Victorian Everyman Theatre has an ornate auditorium.
