Guests say

Brooklands is a charming and cosy cottage in a picturesque Cotswold village, appreciated for its spacious garden, historical character, and peaceful setting. Guests have enjoyed the welcoming touches, the wood burner, and the property's cleanliness. While some guests mentioned issues with parking and stairs, the overall sentiment is positive, with many looking forward to returning.

The cottage is consistently described as clean and tidy, with guests noting the property's well-kept condition. The presence of a clean environment contributed positively to the guests' experiences.

The location is highly praised for its beauty and tranquillity, with easy access to local attractions and walks. The village's charm and the proximity to a good pub are frequently mentioned. However, some guests found parking to be a challenge.

Guests find the cottage comfortable, with a particularly comfortable bed and a cosy atmosphere enhanced by the wood burner. However, some guests mentioned the need for better lighting and more comfortable seating, which slightly affected the comfort score.

The cottage is well-equipped, but several guests noted the absence of a freezer and dishwasher. Maintenance issues like unstable chairs and inadequate lighting were also mentioned. These factors have led to a lower score in this category.

Many guests appreciated the thoughtful touches, such as biscuits, milk, and chocolates left for them. While these gestures were well-received, it is important to note that such gifts are offered at the discretion of the host and may not be a consistent feature for all stays.

About this property

With wonky beams, slopey floors and majestic views across the quintessential English scene, 'Brooklands' is just what you want from a typical Cotswolds cottage. Tucked within the Ballinger's Row, an historic collection of 17th Century cottages, Brooklands is the charming and perfect 'get away from it all' bolt hole within a truly romantic location. Not only that, inside the character speaks for itself, spacious rooms presented with antique touches, altogether give this beautiful home a truly cosy feel. Watch the telly or read a book in front of the fire, or simply do nothing but enjoy the exceptional setting and commanding views over the completely unspoilt Chedworth Valley.

And there is a delightful country pub at the end of your lane too, The Seven Tuns is currently closed, but hopefully re-opening soon. Although in the Row, the impression is of complete seclusion and tranquility, having an enclosed mature garden and situated on a narrow lane with scarcely any traffic at all: but cars can deliver (and turn around at the end of the road) and are parked at the end of the lane. This is an eclectic, manor-style bolt hole just perfect for hiding away from the busy world!

Chedworth is an attractive historic village in Gloucestershire. The village is home to one of the largest Roman villas in Britain. Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy the excellent scenic walks from the village including The Monarch’s Way and The Macmillan Way. Ideally located in the centre of the Cotswolds, popular towns including Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold and Burford can all be discovered whilst staying in Chedworth.
