About this property

Perfectly located for touring the far south west of Cornwall, this traditional terraced cottage is set in a quiet location in the heart of the seaside town and famous fishing port of Newlyn on the shore of Mounts Bay now recognised amongst the most beautiful bays in the world. With art galleries, historic old pubs and outstanding restaurants, as well as the harbour all within a short level walk this really is the ideal setting to enjoy all this most interesting town has to offer. Walkers will delight in the stunning walks available right from the door to Penzance, Marazion and St Michaels Mount walking west and Mousehole on to the magical Lamorna Cove eastwards. The cottage is set off the main streets close to the harbour, home to one of the largest fishing fleets in the UK where all sorts of fishing vessels can be seen. It is worth getting up early at least once to experience the bustling fish market supplying fish to leading restaurants throughout Europe. You enter the cottage into the hallway before passing through the living room with comfortable sitting and dining areas and then through to the kitchen. There are three bedrooms here, a double and two singles which along with the bathroom are all on the first floor. A comfortable traditional cottage in a great location to experience a true Cornish holiday.

Newlyn is the third largest fishing port in England, and a Port of Refuge for all sea baring craft. Visitors can still watch the landing and auctioning of fish at the market, as many families have for centuries before. This village is around the harbour, with its 800 year old quay curling around the boats. Famous for the Newlyn school of Art and Newlyn Copper, the Cornwall Coastal Path passes through the village, as does the level Mousehole to Marazion cycle path. Wildlife and flora can be enjoyed along both, with sharks, dolphins and seals often seen. The Cornish coast is renowned for surfing, and Penwith offers beaches on which to enjoy this sport as well as surf fishing for sea bass. Mounts Bay also offers opportunities for watersports enthusiasts as well as giving visitors an opportunity to relax and unwind in beautiful surroundings.
