About this property

Experience - The Area...

Set in the traditional fishing village of Port Isaac with a vibrant local community, Sam Billings Cottage (named after a famous and well respected Port Isaac fisherman who once resided here) is located in the heart of the village on the famous Squeeze-ee-belly Alley.

The small dog friendly beach and harbour are just yards away and with the benefit of a super privately owned garden to the front, this fabulous property is everything a Cornish fisherman's cottage should be and much, much more!

For fans of the Doc Martin television series this cottage won't disappoint as the view from the double bedroom upstairs is over the pretty slate rooftops and up to Doc Martins home and surgery. In addition, the cottage next door is where Doc Martin lived in series seven.

The 18th century pub, the Golden Lion and selection of cafes and quality eateries (including Nathan Outlaw's Fish Kitchen) are all again yards away so no need whatsoever to travel far for an evening meal with a view.

Neighbouring Port Gaverne has a small shingled beach at low tide, still occasionally used by working crabbers, and the sandy bays at Polzeath and Daymer Bay are approx. 7 miles, the former with good surfing. The immediate area also offers spectacular coastal walking on the cliffs, east towards Tintagel and west to Port Quin.

Stay - The Accommodation

Entered directly off the alley and up one small step is the smart and well-appointed kitchen with wooden flooring running through the ground floor.  The kitchen opens up into the cosy and very comfortable living space with comfy sofas and foldaway dining table and chairs. Throughout your stay you will have access to Amazon Fire TV so you can watch hundreds of movies and box sets free of charge on demand!

A door leads out from the living room onto a small decked area at the rear where a bistro table and chairs is provided. To the rear on the ground floor is the small but perfectly formed bunk bedroom with white washed full size bunks and really good mattresses.

Up the narrow carpeted stairs (with handrails) to the lovely family bathroom WC with feature roll top bath, and mixer shower over, basin and heated towel rail. Opposite is the carpeted double bedroom with high quality bed and luxuriously comfortable mattress. A television is provided within this bedroom also.

White washed wooden venetian blinds throughout with modern electric radiators efficiently and effectively heating this gem of a property.

Outside to the front of the cottage is a large (by Port Isaac standards) private garden with slate terrace for alfresco dining, sun loungers to the lawn and a barbecue. The garden is accessed a little further along the alleyway via a cobbled path and four steps up into the garden.

Parking is available is one of the village long stay car parks located at the top of the village.
