… ½ mile from Millbrook and ½ mile from the big sandy beach at Whitsand Bay is Tregonhawke Farmhouse, the origins of which go back to the 16th cent.. It has been a family home for generations and has survived much turbulent history. To one side is a very pretty enclosed garden with large lawn, table/chairs, barbecue. Mature trees and farmland surround it and about 300 yards away there is a coarse fishing lake (carp, tench, roach, rudd, bream and perch – some as large as 25lbs!). Fishing free for residents.
Inside, a lovely roomy family home. Access from the garden to porch (for coats/boots, tumble drier, freezer) to big fitted kitchen/dining room (dishwasher, washing machine, microwave) with table/chairs/benches in the middle; equally big living room with open fire, TV/DVD; across a slate-floored hall, a children’s room with lots of toys, leading through to a downstairs double bedroom with door to garden; bathroom (suite) and separate loo.
From the hall, stairs up to five more bedrooms – a double plus single, a double, a twin with 5’6” lintel, another twin, and a single – all very individual and prettily done. Upstairs, two bathrooms (suites, one with shower over bath).
Beach parking available in owners' field above Whitsand Bay, by arrangement. Damages Deposit £250. A smashing home-from-home.

"Lovely house and location. Nine adults, three children and a nearly two-year old had a fantastic time. Can recommend the Cross Keys in Cawsand and the Half-way House in neighbouring Kingsand for excellent pub grub! Good takeaway in Millbrook. Highly recommended!"

"This is a lovely roomy house, it is warm and comfortable. The garden is large and has plenty of seating and catches the sun delightfully. It is on a working farm and you have to respect that the animals need to be the owners priority. We had lovely fresh eggs and the fishing lake was so pretty, although none of our party fished. I would definitely recommend it, it was so peaceful and dark( the stars were amazing)- don't forget to take a torch. Our elderly dogs were very welcome with dog beds supplied and bowls although we took all the doggy bedding, they were very happy. Local village shops are an easy 10-15 minute walk. And a café at the top of Donkey Lane to watch the sea, (up hill but not that far)It is a really lovely place to stay."
