    About this property

Designed to conjure up the atmosphere of a university quad by celebrated architect Ivor Richards, this architect designed house provides a light and airy base from which to explore all that Cambridge has to offer. Just a twenty minute stroll from the centre of Cambridge, yet offering a truly private getaway, this property makes a peaceful retreat while still being close to all the great attractions that this beautiful city boasts. Arranged on one floor, other than having a second living room on the first floor offering partially open-plan sleeping on a sofa bed, Walsh House has been thoughtfully appointed to provide ample space in which to relax and unwind after a busy day exploring. The biggest question will be ‘where to start?’. Perhaps punting on the River Cam which offers a view of the hidden side of Cambridge’s most historical colleges, “the backs”. Or the colleges themselves, which are well worth exploring with many offering guided tours so you can learn about their marvellous history. There are numerous museums to visit as well, including the famous Fitzwilliam Museum. With so much to see on foot and lots of great places to shop and eat, you could be excused for parking your car at Walsh House and not moving it all week. Those who want to go a little further afield, however, will also find the Imperial War Museum at Duxford on their doorstep, along with Newmarket, where guests can take a different kind of ‘punt’, or visit Ely, with its magnificent cathedral, dubbed the ’Ship of the Fens’. Bird watchers will be spoilt for choice, as will keen walkers and cyclists. With so much to do and see, you will be very pleased that you have chosen such a restful place. Shop, pub and restaurant 30 yards.

"Beautiful house in a great location! We would love to stay there again."
"Perfect house for our family get together! We especially loved the wood fire and the very private garden!"
"Cottage was amazing and spacious. Small bedrooms were very small especially when 2 single beds were erected. A lot of equiptment was only for 6 people (eg, placemats and garden furniture) Pictures on website do not do justice to how lovely the place is."
"beautiful house and garden, I would forgive this owner almost anything because she is dog friendly, most rentals that allow dogs are awful, she arranged a dog sitter so I could attend a wedding. A few photographs of the exterior would really sell this architect designed house, its a gem."
    "Lovely place, very thoughtful owners"
