For a wider selection of restaurants, supermarkets and services, the coastal town of Calheta is about a 10-minute drive away. Calheta is also home to one of Madeira’s few golden sandy beaches, as well as a marina offering boat trips, fishing excursions and dolphin-watching experiences.
The surrounding region is particularly popular with walkers, with several scenic levada trails nearby that showcase Madeira’s dramatic scenery and lush agricultural terraces.
