Just a few steps from a stunning beach on the Adriatic coastline, Casa Lantana offers a prime location in one of Puglia’s most coveted seaside settings only 10km south of Monopoli.
The villa itself is between the resorts of Capitolo (3km) and Savelletri (4.5km). Just walk 20m to the end of the lane and the turquoise sea and a beautiful sandy beach await. There’s usually a summer beach bar next door to the villa with loungers to rent as well as snacks and cool drinks (usually open May to September, daytime only, although opening dates/times can vary and it may depend on the weather). All along this part of the coast you will find lidos, restaurants, watersports and even a waterpark within 2km. All opening dates/times for lidos, bars, restaurants and activities are seasonal, with some places only open in the high season.
Keen golfers note that San Domenico Golf is only 4.5km away. A short drive also brings you to Fasano (10km), a lively town where charming piazzas and trattorias offer an authentic taste of everyday Puglian life. It’s also handy for picking up groceries - make sure you try the town’s olive oil (there’s an olive oil museum just outside Fasano).
For a coastal contrast, head north to Monopoli, a vibrant fishing town where whitewashed lanes, baroque churches and a working harbour create a postcard-perfect backdrop. Just a little further along the coast lies Polignano a Mare (19km), famed for its dramatic cliffs, sea-view terraces and enchanting old town. It’s a must-visit for its unique setting and lively atmosphere.
Inland, the fairytale trulli of Alberobello (23km) promise a magical day out, with winding lanes lined by unesco-listed conical-roofed dwellings. Casa Lantana is also ideally placed for exploring the wider Itria Valley, with iconic hilltop towns such as Cisternino, Locorotondo and Ostuni all within a 30–40 minute drive. Each offers its own charm, from whitewashed walls and panoramic views to artisan shops and award-winning cuisine.
