About this property

Enveloped by verdant fields backed by rolling hills and with access to the lovely town of Eyeries close by, is Upper Haven. This delightful bungalow offers families, friends and couples the chance to get away-from-it-all and discover peace and tranquility, with views towards the sea and plenty of space to relax inside. Set within the wonderful region of County Cork in Ireland, you have secluded beaches, watersports activities and fabulous walking country all within easy reach. The well-equipped kitchen is fitted in a country cottage fashion, with a dining table and seating, so you can take the weight off you feet as you prepare a delicious meal for the family. There is also a shower room and utility housing laundry facilities, just off from here. As well as the shower room, you have a bathroom, ideal for when all you crave is a hot soak in the tub, on return from a long trek over The Beara Way. Down the corridor is a bright and airy living room with dual aspect and a woodburning stove set within a lovely surround, adding warmth to those cold winter evenings. If nothing takes your fancy on TV, you can simply chat about the day you've had over a cup of tea. Or if you want some quiet time to yourself, move through to the extra dining area in the hall and take in the magnificent views across a patchwork of fields. Slide open the glass doors on a balmy afternoon and read your favourite book outside, enjoying the natural surroundings with a cold drink. You have four bedrooms to choose from at the end of the day including three doubles and a twin, perfect for larger groups. Outside is the garden, with fields at the back where sheep like to graze. You are welcome to bring along your four-legged friends for a holiday of their own, but be mindful that the garden is not enclosed. Choose from many activities to keep you entertained in the area such as, canoeing, sea angling and kayaking, as well as a plethora of walking and cycling routes to suit different strengths. Take a boat trip to explore Bear Island, bask on quiet beaches and admire the picturesque scenery each way you turn. A lovely hideaway in County Cork.

The village of Eyeries in County Cork lies on the Beara Peninsula, overlooking Coulagh Bay and the mouth of the Kenmare River in the southwest of Ireland. This Cork village offers a true insight into Irish village life, with quaint fishermen cottages, and traditional pubs offering a warm Irish welcome. The famous Beara Way passes close to Eyeries, with two points in the village where you can join it, making the area a walker's paradise. Within easy reach is Kenmare, an interesting town full of character and colour, with long winding streets providing the backdrop for farmers' markets, artists' galleries, lovely little boutiques and some of the best restaurants in Ireland!
