Guileen, on the south east coast of Cork, is home to one of many delightful beaches that are found on the coast between Roches Point and Youghal. The village has a pub (the Guileen Arms), with an active sea angling club and regular music sessions. Nearby Whitegate has two pubs, one which serves food, and a Chinese restaurant, along with a state of the art playground that the kids will just love. Each year, Whitegate hosts the Cork ‘Small Boat Festival', a popular angling competition where each contestant brings their own boat. The competition sees over 40 species of fish caught each year.
