The brave among you might even take to the open-water with exciting water sports like kayaking and canoeing; a truly unique way to admire stunning sea views and the craggy coastline. Keen ramblers will be in their element thanks to the abundance of walking opportunities, take in the sea air by ambling along Kilkee Cliffs, head to Doonbeg to join the Doonbeg Heritage Trail which or take on the famous 1500-mile-long Wild Atlantic Way trail, by car or foot, which meanders through an impressive nine counties offering plenty of opportunities to explore charming seaside towns and villages. Alternatively explore inland by heading to Ennis where you can explore the 13th-century friary ruins or tour The Museum of Irish Rural Life in Kilrush or the Clare Museum in Ennis. All this and more awaits at Seaforth.

Kilkee is a picturesque seaside town on the western coast of County Clare, overlooking the mile-long horseshoe bay, with a safe, sandy Blue Flag beach that is shielded from the Atlantic weather by the Duggerna Reef. Bathing and swimming are popular activities at Kilkee, and for good reason: it is widely considered the safest bathing place in all of Ireland, regardless of the stage of the tide. Each week during the summer break, kids ages 9 to 16 can sign up for a surf camp at Kilkee or Doughmore beach with the Kilkee Surf School, or they can go to Waterworld. The Thalassotherapy Centre provides a range of sea-based therapies, and Waterworld features a number of indoor water attractions like a bubble pool, shower geysers, the "lazy river ride," and a 61-meter crystal tower slide, making it a popular destination no matter the weather. The road leading to George's Head features a stunning 18-hole championship golf course that stretches along the cliffs. Many of the walks offer views of spectacular cliffs. Kilkee is home to a number of cafes and restaurants that focus on seafood caught locally, and the local pubs and lounge bars regularly host live music competitions, Irish cultural events, cabaret, dancing, and even pub theatre. You can go dolphin watching at nearby Carrigaholt, and there are also opportunities for sailing, scuba diving, birdwatching, and even horseback riding. All bases are covered.
