About this property

Enjoying a wonderful location adjacent to Lough Atedaun and the River Fergus, as well as a stylish interior, The Cottage is a fabulous pet-friendly dwelling for a group or family of six embarking on their next getaway to Ireland. Be welcomed into the large kitchen/diner, where you will find everything, you need to conjure up delicious feasts, ready for your loved ones to enjoy at one of two dining tables, one which benefits from a position in front of the electric fire. On warmer days, you can enjoy your meals alfresco out on your very own private patio. Just off the kitchen, you will find a handy utility area for your convenience. When its time to relax, head to the spacious sitting room with plenty of plush seating to relax on, a Smart TV and a contemporary electric fire. Completing the ground floor is a lovely double bedroom served by a well-appointed shower room, ideal for those with limited mobility. Follow the stairs up to the first floor, where you will discover two further bedrooms, a second double with its own en-suite shower room, and a generous super-king-size with sloping ceilings. Your local amenities can be found in Corofin, where you can dine at O’Riains Bar, Bofey Quinns Bar & Restaurant and the Yellow Submarine, or stock up on essentials at one of two convenience stores. From here you can easily access The Burren National Park, where you can enjoy leisurely strolls and exceptional views and scenery. Next stop is Ennis, home to the fascinating Ennis Friary, Clare Museum, the excellent Ennis Golf Club, Calre Abbey and a variety of restaurants and pubs to suit every taste and budget. For a day along the coast, make the drive over to Lahinch, where you can beachcombe the shores, or make your way up to the ruins of Dough Castle which overlook the Inagh River. Continue onto Doolin, where you can hike along the Cliffs of Moher, explore the nearby Doonagore Castle, or indulge in traditional Irish pub fayre at the 19th-century Gus O’Connors Pub. All this and more awaits at Teach De Barra.

Corofin, a picturesque village on the banks of the River Fergus, is known as the southern gateway to the Burren, one of Europe's most distinctive limestone landscapes. The Clare Heritage Centre is located in the village's historic St. Catherine's Church. The 15th-century round tower and renovated castle at Dysert O' Dea castle now house a delightful museum and tea room and have made the village famous for its music festivals held all year long. Hill walking and cycling are popular in the area, and golfers will enjoy the course at the nearby seaside resort of Lahinch. The Cliffs of Moher, day trips to the Aran Islands, Craggaunowen, and Bunratty Castle are all within driving distance, making this a wonderful vacation spot.

Well equipped and a good location on the outskirts of Corofin. Helpful and friendly host. Would be very happy to stay here again.

  • Dave

Spacious, warm, with all the expected facilities. A lovely village, with many opportunities for a quiet pint (of the black nectar). Would recommend to friends, family and the wider public...

  • Manda

The house was dog friendly but the village eateries weren’t which was a shame. Would definitely recommend this property though, it was a great house.
