Corofin, a picturesque village on the banks of the River Fergus, is known as the southern gateway to the Burren, one of Europe's most distinctive limestone landscapes. The Clare Heritage Centre is located in the village's historic St. Catherine's Church. The 15th-century round tower and renovated castle at Dysert O' Dea castle now house a delightful museum and tea room and have made the village famous for its music festivals held all year long. Hill walking and cycling are popular in the area, and golfers will enjoy the course at the nearby seaside resort of Lahinch. The Cliffs of Moher, day trips to the Aran Islands, Craggaunowen, and Bunratty Castle are all within driving distance, making this a wonderful vacation spot.
