Guests say

Guests consistently praise the Seascape cottage for its stunning location, cleanliness, and the warm welcome provided by the hosts. The property offers a peaceful retreat with mesmerising harbour views and is well-equipped for a comfortable stay. While some guests suggest minor updates and the addition of Wi-Fi, the overall experience is highly regarded, with many looking forward to returning.

Reviews frequently highlight the property's cleanliness, with multiple guests describing the cottage as 'spotless' and 'very clean'. This indicates a high standard of cleanliness maintained at the property.

The location is repeatedly praised for its tranquillity and stunning views, particularly of the harbour and ocean. Guests appreciate the proximity to local attractions, although one review mentions it being slightly remote. The overall sentiment is very positive regarding location.

Comfort is well-regarded, with guests finding the beds very comfortable and the property homely. There are some suggestions for updates, and one review mentions the decor as old-fashioned, but these do not significantly detract from the overall comfort.

Facilities are generally seen as good, with a well-equipped kitchen and welcoming touches. However, some guests note the lack of Wi-Fi, issues with a DVD player, and a desire for more modern amenities, which affects the score.

Many reviews express gratitude for the thoughtful gestures by the hosts, such as providing baked goods and local produce. While these gifts are warmly received, it is important to note that such personal touches, though common, are not guaranteed for every stay.

We really enjoyed our stay. The house was spotless and the hosts were so responsive and helpful. We would definately recommend the house.

And that is the issue. We arrived and after reading the reviews of the warm welcome and guided tour etc to find nobody. Got a message beforehand to indicate where the keys were and that the said bin needed emptying on the Monday so to put it out! This wasn’t a request it was a duty! Really, it was an opportunity to come on the Monday to the house meet us, run through the details and see that all was ok. And I say this because this house is not conventional. There is no outside space despite its fabulous position. The rear of the house is full of bins and an oil tank and a small 2 chair bistro set nestled among that, clearly not enough for my 6 guests! The garden was behind the neighbours house who owns the lane that leads to it (very nice lady nonetheless) and parking was directly outside the front door. The neighbour was not shy is telling us where to park and how to park as we had two cars (not enough parking or areas to park). In addition, we did read the reviews as mentioned and expected to at least have a nice welcoming starter kit of tea (one box or regular tea) coffee, milk butter etc there was even talk of home bakes but nothing of the sort for us and given that your not permitted to enter before 4pm leaves you little time to go anywhere to stock up. We were planning our big shop for the following day when everyone had arrived. There was a box of a”fter 8 and a bottle of wine” but at that time of the day not appropriate. The place itself I feel was quirky which sometimes is good and I like quirky but this place was a haven for old tired stuff just shoved into cupboards or on shelves filling space. Most of the facilities were old and dated although working but there was a fairly new air fryer?? There was a separate top loader washing machine and a separate dryer hidden in a cupboard but no washing powder??? And the clothes line was in the garden up the lane behind the neighbours house. The rooms were barely single and tight in space as all had sinks in them none of the lights over the sinks were working nor shaving sockets. Both doubles were just adequate with little room around the beds. We had to dismantle the cot in the room with the 2 singles which took some time (it wasn’t requested so ????) The upstairs viewing room was unused mostly and a waste of necessary space that was lacking downstairs! It did rain a lot during our stay in the evenings and all of us being Irish born and bred don’t need a platform or a room that big to remind us of the weather!! We made the best we could and had a great stay in the area despite the accommodation and went to the wildlife park and had days on the beach and took in the sites in Waterford city, Wexford town, New Ross, Enniscorthy and of course fethard-on-sea and Hook head even Duncannon up the road. Some of our crew took advantage of fishing. The scenery is spectacular of course (I’m a proud Irishwoman) but the house given its position needs a full revamp. I’ve looked back at the reviews after our stay and to be fair a lot of people were being kind given the hosts hospitality! I’m being honest given the hosts lack thereof! Perhaps if we had, we may have had a better experience.
