About this property

Settled in the small village of Ballycullane in County Wexford, is this delightful two-bedroom bungalow, Lane Cottage. Enjoying a prime location close to amenities and just a short drive away from the beautiful Duncannon Beach, Lane Cottage is an idyllic setting for a group or family of six looking to explore this beautiful part of Ireland. Be welcomed into the spacious kitchen/diner with wall-mounted TV, where you can look forward to rustling up mouth-watering meals for your guests with the help of the electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and handy dishwasher for a fuss-free clean up! Gather around the dining table for six as you savour a delicious meal, as you make plans for the days ahead. Choose from two well-appointed sitting rooms to relax in for the evening, one with reclining sofa and single armchair and Smart TV for enjoying your favourite TV shows and the other a plush sofa which doubles as a day bed for two and can either be a king-size or twin. Grab your favourite book, pour in the bubbles and indulge in a blissful soak in the bath, before discovering two additional rooms to catch your rest in a king-size and a double. In the morning, take advantage of the handy washing facilities available in the kitchen/diner, as you serve up morning coffee ready to enjoy out in the private garden. Explore the local village where you will find a welcoming pub, Power’s Bar & Lounge where you can sample the local ales, a café for grabbing a delicious home-cooked breakfast ahead of a day of adventures, a hairdresser, petrol station and handy supermarket for stocking up on any last-minute essentials. For a day at the beach, pack up your swimming trunks and bathing suits and head straight for Duncannon Beach, where you can beachcombe the golden sands, paddle the shores or tuck-in to fresh fish and chips as you soak up the views. For the budding historians in your party, the historic remains of the 13th-century Tintern Abbey are easily accessible and feature guided tours as well as a on-site tearoom. Just a little further is the impressive 19th-century Colclough Walled Garden, split into an ornamental and kitchen garden, perfect for the keen gardeners amongst you. Take the short drive over to New Ross, where you can board the 19th-century Dunbrody Famine Ship Experience and peruse exhibits and embark on a guided tour. There are also relaxing river cruises readily available along the River Barrow, a perfect way to see the sights. For an unforgettable Irish getaway, look no further than Lane Cottage.

In County Wexford, a little community called Ballycullane may be found in the southwest corner. This small town has a grocery store, a church, and an authentic Irish pub. Only 12 miles separate the village of Dunbrody from the town of New Ross, which has a lot to offer tourists, including the Dunbrody Famine Ship, a vessel with a rich history that helped define modern-day America and Ireland. Anyone interested in tracing their family history should not miss the John F. Kennedy Trust, located in the town.

This was very close to the bath and sink, making it uncomfortable to sit. Other than that everything was very clean and tidy, with everything and more we required.

We found the cottage to be spotlessly clean. The kitchen provided everything necessary for easy food preparation as well as washing machine and tumble dryer which had the invitation 'please use as you need'. The comfort of the sitting room with good TV reception encouraged lazy evenings after long days touring the many beauty spots in the area. All in all the perfect location for relaxing. Even the absence of WiFi was a bonus, no temptation to log in to computers! Many thanks, Brid Roe
