Full of character, and over 150 years old, this Ballinrobe cottage combines traditional features, such as the thick stone walls and slate flooring, with all of the necessary modern amenities required to make a comfortable, well-equipped holiday cottage. Relax and enjoy a glass of wine in the large cottage garden, or curl up in front of the cosy open fire after a busy day exploring. Ideally situated between Lough Carra and Lough Mask, and close to Lough Corrib, fishing and angling are readily available from the cottage. The busy, historic market town of Ballinrobe has no shortage of shops, pubs and restaurants to explore, or visit County Galway for an exciting day out. The thriving market town of Ballinrobe is located on the River Robe in County Mayo, close to both Lough Mask and Lough Corrib. Apparently the oldest town in South Mayo, this settlement dates as far back as the 1300s. This town retains a vibrant atmosphere with a diverse range of shops, pubs and restaurants. Due to its convenient placement on the border between regions, this wonderful little settlement makes a good base for those wishing to explore both County Galway and County Mayo. With excellent fishing lakes and good golf facilities close by too, Ballinrobe has plenty for those who enjoy the great outdoors. Both the Mayo and Galway coastlines are worth visiting and can be easily reached in a couple of hours, as can the world famous Connemara National Park.

Perfect property and perfect location. We had everything we needed within the property and it was very comfortable. It was perfect for our (2) dogs. The garden was fully enclosed and safe and as the weather was very good we could leave the door open and they could roam freely. There was even a very good vet a very short distance away! It was a moderate walk in to Ballinrobe for shops and eating out. Great host! We would definitely recommend and certainly book again.
