Boasting a charming fitted kitchen, which comes well equipped for all your culinary needs, you’ll also find a dining area where you can gather together for plenty of sociable evenings with your loved ones. After a day spent on the lake, why not relax and unwind in the spacious sitting room, perfect for all the family with its air hockey table and pool table? Three comfortable bedrooms complete the accommodation including an en-suite master bedroom and a family room with two sets of bunk beds to cater for a variety of groups. To the front of the cottage, guests can enjoy private and direct access to Lough Allen, and the property has its own slipway into the lake. This vast stretch of water is not only a paradise for anglers, both professional and amateur, but is a wonderful location to sample the variety of watersports available nearby at the local outdoor pursuits centre. The small village of Ballinagleara is home to two shops and pubs and is surrounded by luscious green countryside with plenty of quiet lanes and rural roads to explore either by bike or on foot. If you fancy the night off from cooking then head to Gables restaurant nearby. Moorlands Horse Riding centre is just a short drive away, as are the Marble Arch Caves for sublime scenery. Further afield is the bustling town of Carrick-on-Shannon, home to a plethora of delicious eateries, relaxing coffee shops and traditional pubs. Often referred to as Ireland’s ‘cruising capital’, it would be a shame to miss a boat trip along the Shannon to soak up the stunning scenery. Other popular attractions include Boyle Abbey, Lough Key Forest and Activity Park for zip-wiring, high forest adventure and lovely walks, along with the stunning sandy beaches that stretch along the coast of County Sligo. The small village of Ballinaglera lies on the shores of Lough Allen in County Leitrim. The village is served by two shops and two pubs but the main attraction has to be the Lough, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, which boasts a plentiful supply of fish year all year round and hosts many annual fishing contests. Ballinaglera has its own outdoor adventure centre with activities such as canoeing, kayaking and wind-surfing available.
