Explore Burren National Park (9 miles) to see its unique lunar-like rock formations, and discover the rare flora, and megalithic tombs. For shops, restaurants, and pubs, head to the historic town of Gort (5 miles). Visit Fiddaun Castle, on the owner’s farm, a renowned six-storey tower house from 1574. Enjoy a round at Gort Golf Club’s 18-hole course (3.5 miles), walk around Coole Park Nature Reserve (5.5 miles), a rare and complex wetland, and visit the 14th-century Thoor Ballylee Yeats Tower (10 miles), once inhabited by the famous poet. Enjoy a day out in Galway (30 miles) visiting the cathedral and city museum, and listening to traditional live music.
