Tieve Baun cottage receives glowing praise for its welcoming hosts, immaculate presentation, and stunning, peaceful location. Guests consistently highlight the comfort, cleanliness, and well-equipped nature of the property, with many returning for multiple stays. The warm hospitality, including thoughtful touches from the owners, is frequently mentioned. While some guests note the lack of Wi-Fi and occasional issues with beds or directions, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive, making it an ideal retreat for those seeking relaxation and scenic beauty.
Cleanliness is repeatedly praised, with guests describing the cottage as 'immaculately presented', 'pristine clean', and 'very clean and tidy'. Only one review mentions an issue with the comfort of beds and sofas, but not with cleanliness itself.
The location is described as stunning, peaceful, scenic, and close to both nature and local attractions. Guests appreciate the quiet, remote setting with beautiful views, though a few mention difficulty with directions and remoteness as minor drawbacks.
Most guests find the cottage comfortable, cosy, and spacious, with several repeat visitors. However, a small number of reviews mention uncomfortable beds and sofas, which slightly lowers the score.
Facilities are generally rated highly, with the cottage described as well-equipped and well-maintained. The main negative is the lack of Wi-Fi and poor phone signal, which some guests found inconvenient, though others appreciated the digital detox.
Guests frequently mention the owners' warm welcomes and thoughtful gestures, such as homemade apple pie and fresh vegetables. While these touches are highly appreciated, it should be noted that such gifts are not guaranteed for every stay.

Very off the beaten path, very calm and peaceful. Lots of space in the house and outside in the garden/yard, everything you need is there. WiFi works wonderfully (which might be important - our phones didn't really get a signal). Exceptional welcome by Bridie and Michael - thank you!

Michael and Bridie are perfect hosts and we consider them our friends now. Cottage is pristine clean well equipped and close to all Sligo has to offer. No WiFi at the moment will have next month..I dont know whether to be pleased about that or not. Its pretty perfect as it is.
