The quaint town of Foxford is 4 miles away, and you’ll find further shops, pubs, and restaurants in the vibrant town of Ballina (10 miles). The area is a paradise for walkers, with popular routes taking you through the Ox Mountains, along the River Moy, and through ancient woodlands such as Belleek Wood.
The characterful, converted stable still retains many of its original features and is decorated and furnished in a traditional style, with pretty floral fabrics and homely accessories. The property has a reverse-level layout, with three inviting bedrooms (all with en-suite shower rooms) on the ground floor. Heading upstairs, discover a cosy lounge/kitchen/diner with a vaulted ceiling and beautiful wooden floorboards, which add to the country-cottage style. Foxford is a small, picturesque town on the banks of the River Moy. Enjoy peaceful strolls along the river, or on one of the circular walks through the surrounding country lanes. The long-distance Foxford Way, which takes you through the Ox Mountains, also starts in the town. After a long walk, refuel in one of the traditional pubs or restaurants. The area is popular with anglers, who fish for trout and salmon on the River Moy and at nearby Lough Conn and Lough Cullin (6 miles).
