3 Lownards Cottage is a quintessentially English thatched cottage located in the quaint hamlet of week, Dartington in the heart of South Devon. Dartington is home to the famous Dartington Hall Estate’s 1200 acre mix of farmland and woodland, as well as 25 acres of Grade 2* listed gardens, which are open all year round. There are also a variety of specialist shops, restaurants and a café, including the nearby thatched Cott Inn which serves excellent food and beer. All of these local amenities, as well as bike and canoe hire, can be reached within a short 10 minutes’ walk on an off-road route. The path also leads to Totnes with a picturesque riverside walk and bicycle track. The coast is easily accessed, with a choice from Torbay to Dartmouth, Salcombe and beyond. Dartmoor also lies only about 25 minutes drive away. The property itself sleeps 4 in two bedrooms, with space for two cars. Whether you are looking for a couple’s retreat or a family get away, this property would make it one you won’t forget.

Garden and Parking
Enclosed large garden at the front of the property, with shallow pool, summer house, outside seating, with a pretty stream running behind the garden fence. Private parking for two small/medium sized cars on the driveway.

Power and Heat: Gas central heating included in rent. Gas fired central heated towel rails in bathrooms. Electric fire in lounge.

Relaxing Stay <br />Beautiful cottage in quiet surroundings within walking distance to the Dartington shops. Both bedrooms were of an equal size, and the bed was very comfortable with one side being slightly softer than the other. (2 singles together) A lovely cream tea was waiting for us on arrival in the kitchen which was well stocked. Garden was large with a lovely sun house and pool. It was so nice to be able to take our dogs to such a nice place so they could enjoy their holiday as well. All in all highly recommended.

Excellent <br />The cottage was charming, very well furnished and appointed. The extensive garden was private and simply wonderful-the best of English gardens. The cottage was very well located-easy walks to shops, pub and Dartngton Hall's shops, coffee house and events. There was a nearby garage. Totnes is nearby and easily accessible by car. Our hosts, John and Liz, were friendly and courteous. Overall, we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay.
