About this property

A character terraced cottage originally part of a stone barn, just outside the village of Barlow. Beautifully renovated to provide contemporary open plan accommodation on the ground floor, complete with woodburner, this property also boasts two bedrooms on the first floor. Set in magnificent countryside near the Peak District National Park, this is an ideal base for relaxing or enjoying more energetic pursuits such as walking or cycling. Note: This cottage can be booked with Refs. 12587 and 939316, together they sleep 13.

The historic market town of Chesterfield acts as the gateway to the Peak District, and has much to offer visitors. The town is famous for its 14th Century church with "Crooked Spire", twisting curiously from its true centre, while the frequent bustling market days are ideal for exploring the many different specialist shops and stalls which line the old Market Hall and charming Shambles beyond. The town also boasts Queens Park, with its boating lake, walks and summer bandstand, as well as a museum and theatre. An interesting base for a break exploring the Peak District.

Very comfortable and clean in a very pretty and quiet location but only a very short drive to Sheffield, Chesterfield, Dronfield and Bakewell. The only tiny thing I would mention as an improvement was that the kitchen knives were not sharp and there were no scissors. And a Smart TV would be great. That feels like nit-picking though.

A real gem of a place. Was lovely and clean and welcoming. Enjoyed a special break away. A few kitchen things missing which would have been helpful to have had but we coped and didn’t ruin it at all. Would definitely recommend and would definitely go back.

The cottage was clean, cosy and comfortable. It had everything we needed and a lovely touch from the owner who brought over some little treats after we arrived. The cottage is in a lovely location, nice and peaceful but not far from the lovely villages and attractions in the Peak District. We would definitely stay there again and would recommend to others.
