About this property

Silsden 2 miles. A first class mid-terrace farmhouse conversion, offering delightful accommodation with three bedrooms, a shower room and a separate ground floor bathroom. There is also a kitchen with dining area and a sitting room with woodburner and views of the mature front garden. A wonderful cottage, making an ideal base from which to explore this lovely part of the country. Note: This cottage is next door to Ref. 915700, together they sleep 8.

The pretty town of Silsden, set on the edge of the stunning Yorkshire Dales National Park, commands sweeping views of the River Aire and its valley, and has a thriving community with local amenities. Although Silsden was originally an agricultural town, the construction of the nearby Leeds and Liverpool Canal meant that it later became an important centre for the mill industry, however the local economy is now largely supported by tourism, and it has become a perfect place to stay and explore the local area. Down the Aire Valley lies historic Skipton, known as “The Gateway to the Dales”, a quaint market town boasting an ancient castle open to the public, a beautiful old parish church and a colourful market occupying the cobbled setts each side of the high street. In 2008, the Academy of Urbanism voted the high street as the best shopping spot in Britain.

. There were fresh flowers, tea coffee and cakes on arrival which was lovely. The cottage was very cosy and clean and had everything we could possibly need for our stay. There was a information about walks from the property (which we made use of) and information on days out. There was also a good collection of books, games and DVDs.Can't recommend this property enough.

Access to local facilities are close by and for walking the location is ideal. Upon arrival we found a cosy cottage with excellent under floor heating. The kitchen is really well appointed and includes everything to prepare and serve a three course meal. The lounge is comfy with two double sofa's overlooking a nice view of the garden and hills beyond. The double bed was one of the comfiest I have slept in. A nice touch was the fresh cakes upon arrival and later in the week we got more!! An even nicer touch was Toms efforts in helping our friends dig themselves out of the snow with his snow plough! We had gone home a day earlier because of the weather forecast. A great place to stay, would definitely recommend it!

Everything we needed was in the cottage - like a home from home :) Thanks for finding a toothbrush at short notice - much appreciated. Will be back :)
