We had a great week at the cottage. Jean was very welcoming. Just outside the cottage there are lovely walks along the river. We would certainly recommend staying, so you can explore lots of walks and tourist attractions that are near by.

Warm and cosy cottage that was nice and clean with freshly laundered bedding and a good supply of soft fresh towels. Lots of good fire escape points as the windows all opened like doors! The whole place felt a little worn though and could do with a refresh. The window frames desperately needed sanding and varnishing, there were quite a few latches missing in various places. The Velux windows were very green and mossy and needed cleaning on the outside. Gutters needed cleaning and there were many leaks in different places. Outside areas needed tidying, there was a garden bench with rotten wooden slats, another bench out front that needed painting and the general area would benefit from a pressure wash and clean. Kitchen was poorly designed and dated. Washing machine was mouldy on the rubber seal. There was a leak under the sink due to a badly fitted waste pipe, so the unit was rotten but this was known as there was a tub underneath the leak catching the water. Bearing in mind there is a double electric socket in there too we found this quite concerning. Pots and pans need checking between occupants as we had to wash all these ourselves prior to being able to use them. Living/dining room was nice however there was a 4way extension lead serving the electric fire, lamp and dvd player which I feel would exceed the 13amp recommendation! Lastly, whilst we always look for a pet free property to be assured of a clean outside area and lawn, we were disappointed to find that the owners who lived close by, let their own dog out to roam and toilet wherever it pleased, including free access to the lawn of the property.
