Guests say

Mill Leat is a well-received cottage in the heart of Castleton, appreciated for its comfort, cosy atmosphere, and excellent location. Guests have enjoyed the thoughtful touches, including festive decorations and welcome gifts, and have found it to be a convenient base for exploring the Peak District. While some guests have raised issues with cleanliness and maintenance, these appear to be isolated incidents, with the majority of feedback being positive.

Most guests found Mill Leat clean and comfortable, though there were a few reports of cleanliness issues such as unclean shower trays and floors. These seem to be exceptions rather than the rule, suggesting generally good standards with occasional lapses.

The cottage's location is highly praised for being central within Castleton, offering easy access to local amenities, pubs, and walks. The provision of a parking permit is also appreciated, despite some challenges with parking space availability.

Guests consistently describe the cottage as comfortable, cosy, and homely, with comfy beds and a warm atmosphere. However, some guests mentioned that the beds were too soft for their preference, which slightly affects the score.

The cottage is well-equipped with necessary amenities and some guests were pleased with the secure courtyard for dogs. However, there were comments about the need for maintenance, such as fixing a sliding door and addressing minor issues with kitchenware and garden tidiness.

Many guests mentioned thoughtful gestures such as welcome gifts and Christmas decorations, contributing to a welcoming and festive atmosphere. While these gifts are warmly received, it's important to note that such personal touches, though delightful, may vary and are not guaranteed.

.it had everything in it that we needed. It was very clean and warm when we arrived and we were left a lovely bottle of prosseco to welcome us. The car park pass was great. Highly recommend this cottage if you are planning a stay around the area

There was no need to use the log burner a all during our say and at no time did we feel the cold. The master bedroom was warm, plush and tasteful. The kitchen well appointed with decent equipment and the lounge comfy and cosy. Security is great, with an enclosed courtyard, with locking front gate and lighting. The cottage was in a beautiful setting, on the main walker's roue to Mam Tor and across the street from the main village car park and Peak's visitor centre, for which the host includes a parking permit. What a beautiful spot, I could happily retire here!
