"This is a great little place but probably better for adults / older kids than our family with a (very active and fast moving!) 2 year old and 6 year old. The garden is technically 'fully enclosed', however I was disappointed to see that there was a side gate on the front that would easily be opened by a small child and the driveway gates also weren't able to be locked shut in a way that made them child safe. There is also some spaces beside the gates that a sly little one or animal could squeeze through. And being on a fairly quiet, but certainly not deserted, open road speed limit area it made the outside far less usable than I would've hoped as we couldn't let the kids play outside whilst in the kitchen for instance. A shame as it's a decent space and I was looking forward to making use of the outside space. It would also have been good to have some kids outside play equipment of some kind perhaps - even a couple of footballs would've been good but a trampoline / climbing frame even better! Perhaps an idea for the future if the owners wish to appeal to younger families. There was no dishwasher which I personally would've preferred to the washing machine that is provided but I guess for others it may not be an issue. I would've also liked to see a bath mat in the downstairs shower room and to have seen extra towels available. These are obviously small things but it is the small things that can make a real difference! :-)Overall though the cottage is well equipped, the beds comfortable and the owner Rob was very friendly and helpful and did assist quickly with any issues we had and it was a nice base to get out and about in the area. I think there are some great markets around but not really something you can do with a two year old! LOL! Shame as would've loved to do that. Nearby Lincoln was lovely and the beach was only a short 30min drive away though we made the mistake of visiting Skegness which I wouldn't do again! We later found a much quieter beach area which was much more enjoyable. I understand there is good walking around but we didn't do any of those. Rand farm was worth a visit too.Although we wouldn't stay here again it is more a case of we wouldn't particularly feel the need to come to this area again than the cottage in particular."

"The bungalow is situated on the edge of a housing estate in Bathampton. It was really clean, the shower was powerfull & there was plenty of hot water. From the cottage it is approximately a 2.5 mile walk along the canal into Bath in one direction & approximately 11 miles into Bradford on Avon in the other direction. Unfortunately there are no shops in Bathampton, the nearest being about 2 miles away so the welcome pack provided by the owners was really useful. There is also a pub a short walk from the bungalow. Whilst we were staying the garden was swarming with bees. There were at least 3 individual nests with hundreds of bees surrounding each nest which made sitting out in the garden impossible. Normally I can enjoy bees visiting my garden (& I have planted plants which attract them) but the amount in this garden was not in the least enjoyable. Looking at the review book in the cottage the bees were also a problem to people staying during September / October last year. The owner managed to eventually get pest control out the night before we left. They attended the premises at 6:20 pm but by that time most bees had retired into their nests. Pest control stated they were Ivy bees. Unfortunately as I have a severed allergy to stings we could not risk opening windows or sitting in the garden which sadly spoilt our enjoyment of the cottage."

"The big plus about this cottage is the wonderful location, perched atop a cliff with lovely views to the south over the channel and to the west along the coast, where we saw some amazing sunsets.Large property with secure decked area to patio doors to front and beyond a secured mainly turfed garden. This was ideal for our 2 small dogs. Parking for 2 cars directly outside and property accessed by gravel road. Spacious lounge, adequate kitchen, decent size bedrooms and main bathroom. We didn't use the games room upstairs. The negatives were that when we arrive the place smelt of dogs, and although we have dogs, this smell was off putting. Soon had windows open and bought and used air fresheners which did the trick. Everywhere was clean, but the kitchen was dirty. Previous occupants had left a dirty greasy oven, dirty microwave, some cutlery marked and oven and work tops not clean. We had to spend a bit of time with soap and water to make it clean, which we shouldn't have to do.Otherwise a nice property in great location."

"it’s lovely to have the beach only a 5 minute walk down the road but the cottage is right next to a main road. It’s advertised as dog friendly but it isn’t, dogs aren’t allowed to be left on their own or upstairs and there is a big gap at the bottom of the garden between the grass and fence big enough for dogs to get out onto the main road. It was clean enough but could’ve been better, we had to buy our own plastic cups to drink from because the ones provided were dirty. It’s a lovely touch having the hot tub to relax in but again, you couldn’t 100% relax because you had the noise from the main road and having to keep a constant eye on your dog, the jets would also go off after 10/15 minutes and wouldn’t come straight back on so it got cold quickly and had to come out. We unfortunately wouldn’t recommend this cottage or come back. Instead I would recommend bainland lodges in woodhall spa, so relaxing, quiet and very clean!"

"We enjoyed a super holiday at S15100. The house is well situated with lovely views to front and back. The layout out inside is very practical with a large sitting room, large kitchen-diner ( with doors opening out onto the patio/garden) and good-sized bedrooms. The house was very well equipped with more than enough crockery, cutlery glasses etc.. The bathrooms and en-suite shower rooms were spacious with lovely fittings. Wifi and phone signal both excellent. There is a pub 150 yards away and about 300 yards is the railway station with trains to Whitby. It's a very friendly line but not very punctual! The house is very well placed for a number of lovely walks. The two shops (post office/store and butcher's) are about a mile away. The roads into and around the village are very steep ( up to 1 in 3) so we were not sorry not to have taken our bikes!A great holiday in an area we didn't know at all well before."
