    Tenterden Holiday Cottages

The town of Tenterden stands on the edge of the remnant forest of the Weald and is known as ‘The Jewel’ of the area. Overlooking the valley of the River Rother, the town boasts several large conservation areas, long-distance walking and cycling routes, a wealth of architecture and a fascinating history.

A typical town surrounded by Kent countryside, the centre features green spaces and a high-street full of quirky independent retailers. Those in search of unusual finds will love the range of books, gifts, crafts and local fare on offer. Tenterden is residence to a variety of Georgian and Victorian houses, blending stucco and brick alongside traditional Kent tile. To learn more about the region’s architecture, visit the town’s museum or take a tour of the Kent & East Sussex Railway. Before retiring to your Tenterden holiday cottage, you can nip by the local vineyard’s bar for a glass of wine to unwind.

Here at Snaptrip, our customer service team are always available via phone or email to help you find the right place for your break – and with thousands of properties on the site, we understand it’s a big choice to make. What our customers say about their holidays

    • Andrew - Verified booking

Vine Cottage is beautifully presented to a high standard.

It is very comfortable with luxury beds and bedding. The garden and outdoor seating area is perfect for meals outside and relaxing in good weather. We really enjoyed our holiday. It is very easy to walk into Tenterden from the cottage where there are lots of individual shops and places to eat. We enjoyed lots of local walks and trips to the coast and beautiful gardens around the area. There is definitely plenty to do. We especially enjoyed the Nature reserve at Rye Harbor where we hired bikes. Also did kayaking at Bodiam. Visited so many beautiful places Rye, Cranbrook, Winchelsea, King Johns Nursery at Ticehurst, Hastings, Dungeness, Charleston.... The owners are very helpful and responsive and we would have no hesitation in rebooking. Kent and Sussex are really beautiful areas to explore and Vine Cottage is a relaxing and comfortable place to stay. Thank you.

We had an amazing 2 weeks stay in Vine Cottage.

The house was gorgeous and very tastefully decorated. Everything was spotlessly clean with a very well equipped kitchen at our disposal. The owners even left us some fresh eggs, milk and butter as well as a nice bottle of sparkling wine. We had a slight problem with a leaking kitchen sink, which the owners immediately fixed within 2h. We were also given a second set of bed sheets since we were staying longer than a week. The area itself is great, only a short walk to the high street with lots of lovely walks to the countryside. The cottage is situated on a fairly busy road, but the noise was barely noticeable. We would definitely stay again, everything was perfect and the owners made sure that we had a great stay! Lovely cottage in a great location. Very quiet, clean and comfortable, and fully equipped with everything we needed for a two week stay over summer. Parking is easy, the owners of the cottage are very helpful, and there are lovely neighbours in the adjoining cottage. The wifi as it was a bit hit and miss & rather slow during our stay but for us this wasn’t a huge problem. There is so much to see and do within a short drive in any direction from the cottage and the owners thoughtfully provide lots of brochures and information about the local (and wider) area. It is also only about an hour by train into central London from Headcorn station (about a 15 minute drive from the cottage). We fully recommend Penhill Cottage as a place to stay.

We had a lovely stay in Vine Cottage.

The cottage is beautifully decorated to a high standard and very clean. The garden is also lovely, our two daughters enjoyed playing outside and we enjoyed food and drinks on the patio. The owners were really welcoming and it was easy to get hold of them for any advice. The cottage is in walking distance of the high street, with lots of places to eat in or take away. We really enjoyed the Thai takeaway, that is open Thursday, Friday and Saturday. For families with younger children there is a great park nearby and lots for them to do. We also enjoyed travelling a little further and visited Camber Sands, Rye and Dover Castle. We would recommend Vine Cottage as a great place for a family break.

We have just had a week at this lovely cottage .

It is maintained to a high standard . Lots of positives from the gorgeous towels to the fine glass ware , a wide range of wine / beer glasses which we loved . There was a lovely welcome pack of essentials on our arrival , with well stocked basics . The kitchen had everything we needed. The owners gave us all the information required prior to our arrival . It is an easy walk into town where there is a wide selection of pubs and restaurants plus a micro brewery down by the steam train . The off road parking was a concern for us however we always managed to find a space , so it was not really a problem . Lovely south facing garden . All in all a lovely well maintained cottage.
