    Holiday Cottages in Tywyn

Tywyn is a seaside resort in southern Gwynedd on the Cardigan Bay coast. In the historic county of Merionethshire, this area is world-renowned for its natural beauty. The Welsh Coastal Path runs through Tywyn and out onto its Blue Flag beach. The beach itself is popular with sunbathers and holidaymakers alike and is one of the few places in the UK where you can regularly spot dolphins. On a clear day, beach-goers can see out to the Lelyn Peninsula.

Holiday cottages in Tywyn are situated right where the mountains meet the sea, in the heart of the country, with unrivalled scenery. Tywyn is a perfect destination for a couple’s break in a romantic stone cottage, or look to large, open-plan farmhouses if you’re travelling as a group. Tywyn has a vast choice of attractions for you to fill your day with and a myriad of restaurants and bars serving up locally-sourced cuisine and traditional Welsh dishes for you to enjoy.

We have thousands of properties listed across the UK, all backed by our best price guarantee. Tywyn boasts beautiful accommodation options, from stone cottages to cabins and brightly-coloured seaside townhouses. Can't decide? Our friendly customer service team are on hand to help and offer advice.

The cottage is in a beautiful setting, down a narrow country lane a few minutes drive outside of Bryncrug.

There are many nice, thoughtful touches to the cottage. As we arrived on 23rd December, the Christmas decorations were a lovely surprise. We particularly enjoyed the wonderful views across the estuary toward the rolling hills of the countryside from the mezzanine floor and the peace and quiet of this stunning location. The furniture and bedding is of a high quality and little extras like providing cleaning products and handwash is so helpful. The additional laundry room is a plus if you have reason to use it. The garden is lovely but isn't fully enclosed so we kept our puppy on a long lead for exercise. There is a pleasant if short walk down the lane alongside the estuary, if you turn left out of the cottage drive and Tywyn Town and beach is an easy 8 to 10 minute drive away with other great places to visit near by. On the downside there are a few unfortunate issues we encountered which could easily be resolved. We were very disappointed to find the kitchen wasn't very clean at all. Some of the utensils weren't clean, for example the frying pan had grease on it and I had to wash all the saucepans and roasting tin before I could use them to cook Christmas lunch. The oven hadn't been cleaned in ages and was quite disgusting! Not what I expected at all. The bathroom would benefit from better lighting or a lit mirror as my hubby found shaving near impossible. A small unit or chair to put bathroom bits would be useful too. We discovered a leak under the the sink in the downstairs loo which had previously been mentioned, but was clearly not fixed. However, given that we found this on Christmas eve we didn't want to bother the owner immediately, so we dealt with it as best we could and reported it in the maintenance book. Really frustrating was the lack of instruction manuals or information for appliances, after much messing about, I worked out how to work the induction hob. Thankfully, Google was where we found instructions on using the oven and woodburner! The owners should perhaps consider that not all guests have these models at home and so won't know how to use them and basic instructions would be very helpful. Little issues that could easily be resolved with more care and attention to detail to ensure guests enjoy a trouble free stay.

      The property is beautiful.

Carys the owner is so attentive she couldnt have done more to welcome us and try to make our stay wonderful. We arrived to homemade lemon cake and milk in the fridge. The property is well stocked with toilet rolls, cleaning products, towels and firewood. The surroundings are beautiful and it was so lovely to see the cows and sheep do vlose to us. We had a marvelous holiday with only one hiccup being the farms dogs. We took a walk off of the property grounds to see the train and sheep by the stream only to be met by 2 territorial farm dogs who were roaming freely on the road leading up to the property. They cornered me at the gate barking and snarling and I was just grateful my small grandchildren hadn't come with us on the walk as the dogs were displaying agressive behaviour and it made me feel worried my husband or I were.going yo be bitten. Then, the next day one of them jumped over the stable door to the cottage and jumped up at the table where we were eating breakfast and knocked a cup and glass down. Carys was wonderful when we spoke to her and she did try her best to improve the situation explaining that the dogs shouldnt be unsupervised and contacting the farm to make sure they were keeping the dogs under supervison. However, the Farmer let her down as the dogs were still able to come freely over to the cottage and approach my pregnant daughter in law barking and snarling at the gate when it had blown too in the wind and we were returning home from a trip out. The dogs were unsupervised a lot of the time, we just made sure that if we could see and here them we kept the children inside and the door shut. If you do stay here just be aware that there are territorial working dogs roaming freely around the farm grounds that can access the area that the cottage is in.

We stayed at this property for 5 days during NY time.

The cottage was the perfect place to unwind from the frenetic life and enjoy the wonderful landscape that is all around this plot. We also had 2 dogs with us which loved this place a lot too! The garden is very large but not completely fenced/closed so we decided to keep our dogs on the lead to avoid possibile inconvenience. The cottage was very well cleaned and extremely cosy. We absolutely loved our time there. The stone walls are so thick that you are quite unlikely to hear any sounds coming from the cottage next to Dysynni. The log burner is a surplus! We visited in a very windy and rainy week, so that helped us keeping nice and warm for late games (although there’s a central heating in the property which works completely fine). Real pretty the choice of bedding. Not even mentioning the washing powder: the smell of clean was fantastic. The host gives customers the opportunity to write their feedback in a visitor book and also a maintenance book, should something requiring fixing/repairing or simply suggesting how to get better. We did in fact mentioned only a couple of things regarding the maintenance/improvements: one was about the dishwasher which has done its cycle but somehow has not washed the dishes; the other one was the wifi which doesn’t always work. We didn’t mind either of them because we didn’t prepare big meals and we went there with the intention of relax and escape. Extremely fast and organised the management regarding the log burner which one night had an issue but it was immediately solved within 24h. We would definitely come back again! (If we can)

What a wonderful place to spend a week!

! Bob and Tina are so friendly and helpful. The whole place was cosy, the bed was comfortable, there was plenty of space and the views and setting were just amazing!! I would recommend this cottage to anyone. There are two EV chargers which is so rare and thank you to Bob for installing those. Note that the Laundry Room is out of the back door and turn left. We couldn't find this info anywhere in the cottage and I think the Information folder possibly needs going through to check that all the necessary info is there and up to date. There was a really good suggestion in there, though, for the Salt Marsh Kitchen in Tywyn which we would highly recommend also. Just a couple of things to mention but they didn't make much difference to us and wouldn't put us off going back. The duvet filling, despite shaking, remained quite bunched up in places, as did the pillows. Anyway, we didn't manage to sort that out. We still slept really well as the heating was very efficient. The frying pan is bowed so spins around on the hob and only really cooks in the centre...again, we managed just fine...first world problems etc. A small set of digital scales would be useful, unless they are there and I just didn't find them. A superb property and we hope to be back!

A beautiful little cottage, in very peaceful and tranquil surroundings.

First impressions are everything they say, so credit to Carys as the arrival led us to book next year on the very first day of arrival. Sited on a working farm, this little gem offers everything from the sounds of the early morning risers in the cows calling their calf’s, to the sheep calling their lambs, the sound of the birds singing, to the very relaxing sound of the stream passing through the front of the cottage. A short walk down the lane led you to local footpaths, the glorious scenery down the valley, and the sounds and smells of the Talyllyn Railway trundling past. This little part of Wales has always been very special to us, and now we have found somewhere echoes this special place in how you are left feeling in the welcome you receive from the moment you arrive by Carys. Thank you.
